Few voices are worthy to stand beside "the pipes", but Georgia's is one of those few. God bless her.

Georgia nailed this wonderful song, and saved what was otherwise a mediocre Burns Night offering from the BBC. She put her heart into it and it paid off. Listen to the applause. The rest of you performers...watch and learn. Pure class.

Agree totally. Great arrangement by the SSO too and the pipers were great. Transported me back to my roots growing up in rural Ayrshire.

I haven't been able to stop watching this absolutely perfect performance, not only from Georgia but all the musicians onstage. Georgia's voice is so suited for this type of music and it would be great if she recorded 'Westlin' Winds' along with other Burns or Scottish songs. Please!

I've just noticed, after many viewings of this brilliant performance... Georgia is a wee bit tense until the "pipes" do their bit...after that she seems properly relaxed and finishes perfectly.

Nice performance. On a side note, only a 5k views after 2 days. The BBC is definitely on its last legs.

If they had more entertainers of Cecile's standard they would be more popular......especially with younger audiences😮

@@marysmith206 I wonder if it's more that folk are fed up and have lost trust in the BBC.

Personally I prefer it sung in scots without anglo-fying many of the words.

Kind of agree Dick Gaughan has been the benchmark for this tune for the last 40 years .. but I think the point of these shows is to advertise and make Burns appeal to a new audience.. I thought this was a brilliant arrangement and Georgia, new to me , did a fantastic heartfelt interpretation..
