@Donny Dead eye from my understanding what's her sons is what she leaves him the moment she dies she dies. Everything up to then is hers. Unless of course she has already set up a account in his name and is dipping into it, but that's not the impression i got, i think they meant its her blowing her own money which will potentially leave him nothing. The logic: “it’s her money, not yours” can be used for a number of addictions including alcoholism and binge eating disorders. Should we just let people run themselves into the ground without stepping in and providing a way to get out? Ultimately the decision to stop gambling in excess will be up to her, nobody can do it for her.

How does this even make sense l so walking into some dingy place designed to take your money is dumb and you dont understand it but smoking cigs designed to tske your money and kill you in the end you do understand? As if addiction is logical somehow? Gambling addicts arent addicted to winning, their addiction doesnf care if the gamble theyre making is logical and if they can improve odds by analysing bets like its a football game (which is a pointless example anyway as even if uou only bet on favourites in these sport betting things, your loads will be so low that for every 100 dollar youll get like 101 back... and upsets happen often- point is these bets are made in such way thay even as an expert, odds are against you or you wont even win shit). Gambling addicts are addicted to the thrill, waiting for the outcome of their bet, win or lose. These slot machines are even better because its constant dopamine hit one after another.

Now replace gambling with booze or better yet heroin, as presuming she has enough money to sustain her habit without doing dumb shit it might not affect her health as drastically as booze would, ironically enough. Would it be cool for her to piss away any money she could leave her kids, grandkids etc if it was fentanyl? Addiction is addiction, physically this shit works the same way on a brain, but this addiction of hers is prettier, no dirty needles, homeless people etc. Its puzzling how US seems to be the only western nation to downplay gambling addiction to such extent where its considered some harmless fun while other countries in like Europe treat it as seriously as, idk, meth addiction... then again considering the type of capitalism US developed compared to other countries, and the history and influence of Las Vegas, I shouldn't be suprised lol

Even if Martha is super rich, remember these are also dollars in 2007 vs 2023- she will likely squander what could have been generational wealth. Maybe Seth doesn't or doesn't have plans for any children, but I suspect Martha and her husband earnerd good money, maybe invested well and inherited some too. Now all that they have built seems to be destined to go down the drain, but maybe the family line will end with Seth. Sad. My father died recently with a sizable estate. My mother gets most initially and a lot is illiquid. His last wish was for me to at least one child. If I fulfill his wish someday , I will ensure my son or daughter never has to worry about finances. Not waste it or gamble like Martha.

She’s doing it the wrong way, but I don’t think anyone has a right to an inheritance. Her phrase “if nothing’s left then nothing’s left”. Plenty of us in the world who aren’t getting any inheritance, and not because of gambling.

When you have a Child you take on financial responsibility too, to leave your loved ones with nothing doesn't make sense, poverty crushes and embitteres the soul so to make sure your kid can have groceries for the rest of their life is no bad thing....obviously giving them cocaine trust fund money is a step too far.
@benmarshall42022 жыл бұрын
@@heresjohnny602 absolutely and I certainly intend on leaving money for my kids, hopefully a lot more than I’ll ever be left. My point is that I do see people who make poor financial choices in their young adulthood because they know there’s this safety net they’ve got coming one day, and I don’t think people should ever live with that assumption in mind. If I do my best to make a decent life for my family and then inherit from my parents, great, but if I don’t inherit then at least we’re still covered.
