TV series first there's two series on BBC.

It was a movie and then it was spun into two (and now three) 6-episode comedy series on the BBC, but it’s different to the movie in that some of the characters are different and there are new characters, also the pilot wouldn’t make sense if you have seen the movie as it sets the whole series up from scratch rather than it being a direct sequel
