I absolutely love Larry Grayson, he was like a breathe of fresh air, nothing confrontational or threatening about his comedy, he had such a warmth about him and he would have the audiences in histerics...me included!! I do enjoy watching those clips of Larry from "The Good Old Days", just fantastic. Some kind person has taken the trouble to upload 3 of his appearances onto to the one video and I regularly watch that, just a great comedian and storyteller he held the audience in the palm of his hands, just amazing to watch. There has been no one like you since Larry and even though you're no longer here, YOU'RE STILL making us laugh and that's talent that can't be manufactured you've either got it or you ain't! God Bless You Larry, ThankYou for the laughs, I hope you're in a happy place with your family and friends, Gone but you'll never be Forgotten, you were such a gift to comedy xx

Judi Spiers was one of my ''pin up girls'' when I was in the Army. I still have my signed photo, and watching this brings back so many happy memories. I mean...that snort when she laughs!....those legs!....and film star looks! - what's not to love? To this day, she is still as beautiful, as ever. She'll not be reading this, but, I thank her for taking the time to talk to me when I was still on the long road to recovery after Op Granby.

Larry Grayson was so funny, listening to him, was like a gossip with the neighbours! Unlike most comedians/entertainers today, Larry's humour was without malice. I have never heard anyone say anything bad about him, he seemed very genuine and down to earth. He visited the grave site of Arthur Lucan (Old Mother Riley), Larry got upset and had tears in his eyes, he was upset to think that Arthur, who had given so much happiness and pleasure, to so many, was now largely forgotten.

Anyway, the twattish ramblings of the preceding commentators aside...I grew up a couple of streets away from where Larry lived, he was always out walking his poodle, and had a kind word for everybody. He used to have everybody in the doctor's surgery in absolute pieces, it was quite surreal! A very sorely missed member of the Nuneaton community, and of the nation at large. Our local council need to be asked; why they wouldn't allow a statue commemorating him to be erected, and why they continually down-play his connections to the town. We are proud of our Larry. The reasons rumoured demonstrate small minded attitudes of councilors towards his overt homosexuality. If you're a fan of Larry Grayson, get on to Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough council, and give them some crap!! LARRY GRAYSON DESERVES TO BE IMMORTALIZED IN HIS HOMETOWN!!!

I totally agree that we should have a statue in the town. He did loads for local charities for free. Even charging for signed photos and giving all the money to the charity, all at his own cost. He used the white horse bottom of Tuttle hill sitting with his poodle having a chat with whoever spoke to him. Totally down to earth and could of just been anyone on the street with his lovely attitude.

Daz White it's so much easier to love someone who's not sex mad or arrogant but just loves everyone for what they are. I think that's why he's such a charming man, it's the freindly old fashioned values that he swears by that's made him a household name. Everyone who's met him always says how kind he was always cooking & cleaning for his freinds & colleagues always helping others & giving advice. He was a mother's boy but in the nicest way possible, I would love to of met him. Kenneth Williams Frankie Howard & John inman also seemed like lovely people, most people did not even realise frankie Howard was gay until years after he died because he was such a private person who tried hard to live a simple life. The constant shame & fear of secretly being gay was what ultimately killed him, so very sad....

A wonderful man and a true star, so sad he has left us but in a way, his exit was well timed. Because he missed the horrific, unstoppable rise of reality TV. The producers of I'm a Celebrity... Celebrity Big Brother and all the rest would have been queuing up to secure Larry's services! He was waaaay too good to be chewing kangaroo knackers while those gurning idiots Ant and Dec giggled hysterically. TV and celebrity generally has gone right downhill since dear Larry left the stage. From Larry Grayson to Ant & Dec really sums it up - from the sublime to the ridiculous!

glamdolly20 Well said. I watched the ITV show about him last night and what a humble, sincere, gentle gentleman he was. Quite unique and I would liked to have met him.

Most names Larry would be mentioned alongside from that era couldn't do drop in interviews without a script or some prep, Larry just had it on tap, so natural

Our eyes are so use to the digital quality, never noticed the flickering screen when it was analogue. I remember watching interviews from Pebble Mill and thinking what a modern building, looks so dated, the ironory is the houses in the distance that are much older than the BBC studio looks lovely. As for the interview, simply gold.
