"how hard could it possibly be?" - famous last words but I'm only 11 minutes in. Also a guy at a bike shop told me that the newer inner tubes contain less rubber and puncture more easily. So if the old tube holds air, I just reuse it. Yeah I looked at those tires and thought - those are going to be a beeyatch.

How easy it is to fit a tire to these varies a lot from one tire to another. I have changed the rear tire on two of these, mine and my fathers and I first bought a tire that was so tight and stiff that I just had to give up, there was not a chance.... Bought two of a different brand, and it went pretty smooth.

Been there done that! The $30 doesn't sound that bad, huh? :) Usually when I do this job, I pinch the tube and don't realize until I'm done. ;(

Yeah, $30 for someone else to do the job isn't a bad deal after all. This was physically (and emotionally) draining! But in all seriousness, I'll more than likely do it myself from now on, as it really is just a "mind over matter" situation.

I picked up a Harbor Freight tire changer tool and instead of bolting it to the floor made a box frame platform from plywood, with wheels on one end to "Tilt and roll" (the thing weights a ton)

what happened to honda videos? also tire lube aka soap and water in a spray bottle. that is what they use now. i have changed tire on a bike and still didn't like doing that.

Yeah, dawn dish detergent in water works too. Spray bottle is convenient, I just didn't have one at the time. All Helix videos have been destroyed for a number of reasons I will address in a future video.

Why would you need inspection on a 50cc bike?

Because it doesn't qualify for moped plates, as it has no pedals and exceeds 25 mph.

It's also no longer a 49cc bike. It's a 60cc. Believe it or not, there are scenarios where that would cause me a legal headache that I simply do not need.

If a police officer catches you doing 35 mph on moped plates, he is within his rights to hand you a speeding ticket. Most cops don't care, but there will always be that one. I've had one speeding ticket in my life, and one was enough.
