BBK upgrade for the Lexus IS500 - RCF Brembo Orange Caliper and Racing Brake 2-piece rotor Install

The stock IS500 Brakes are nothing special. The fronts Brakes are straight parts bin from the GS350 Fsport / RC350 Fsport. The rear Brakes are you're standard sliding pin caliper.
I decided a bit of OEM+Upgrade the brakes with OEM Brembo RCF/GSF calipers. The front are bolt on while the rear can be installed with a Bracket adapter by 350phi. For the Rotors, instead of going OEM, I went with FIGS Engineering/Racing Brackes 2-piece rotors. Swapped the Brake lines to Braided Stainless Steel lines from StopTech.
NOTE: The front RCF/GSF Caliper wil not clear the stock IS500 Enkei Wheel. They will only clear the Launch Edition/Accessory BBS Forged wheel!!! Found out by members of the community.

I feel that. I just picked up an is500 , but I’m waist deep in a 2jz forged build for my 2004 IS300 so this is not really hard at all in comparison. Sets u apart when u have an is500 with all the oil and trans coolers and brake upgrade .

Plus the IS500 weighs less than the GS F. With better tires alone you’ll be looking at a GS F in your rear view mirror.

Only issue i would have now having parking break. Using transmission for parking up a hill would kill it over time. Hoping you will find a solution let us know!

Had the same done to my 2013 GS350. When i first took the calipers out of the box and saw the orange color, i was a bit underwhelmed because the orang looks a bit dull under low light but after it was installed the color really pops during daytime.

I functionality of parking brake entirely. I made a harness to have the parking brake actuator installed and turned off auto EPB and running around with no parking brake but also no EPB error code.

Which brake fluid did you use? For the RR RACING BBK.. did u use the Wilwood brand from the RR website or OEM?

I love your videos man! Subscribed for all the IS500 content. Question for you though, what are the specs on the te37s? I have a set of te’s laying around that are 19x9.5 +22 for the front and 10.5 +22 for the rear. Think these will fit? Got my IS500 on the way in the ultra white. Thanks man.

Don't think those specs will fit without a lot of camber. The specs on my wheels is 19X8.5 +30 , 19X9.5 +34

Electronic Parking Brake is disabled and there is fault error that is display in the instrument cluster

much needed upgrade! does the bracket manufacturer suggest to grind off the bits of the bracket and the original mounting bracket or is that something you took notice and did?

The caliper yes, was instructed by bracket designer. The knuckle I did on my own when I noticed it could be touching but it wasn't super necessary, feedback was given to the bracket designer and he it's revising the bracket slightly.

I did not drain all the fluid since it's technically new fluid with the car being under 1000 miles at the time. There is tape on the caliper because I didn't want to scratch the finish while installing and test fitting wheels

It will depend on how different the Knuckle is compared to standard IS/RC vs RCF/GSF The Rear likely no since the knuckle is entirely different. The Front maybe but since I was cutting up the rear already, i decided to save myself trouble and just cut the front, which required very minimal cutting.

Didn't need to cut on my 2013 GS350, just needed to fold about 5mm of shielding on the top.

No, you'll have to replace the rotor and buy a adapter bracket so the GSF caliper can bolt on. It's shown in the video what needs to be done

Did you need to install the anti rattle clips? 47748-0W170 My calipers came with them because they’re from a 2020-2022 RCF

I did a quick search and it looks like the part number you mentioned is a newer design clip. I believe either clip I list or the one you list should work since the caliper itself had no change to it.

What year RC350 do you have? My EPB don't work and has an error message but I made a harness to plug the actuator inside the car to trick it to think it's still working

@@specONE I have a ‘21. That’s a smart fix for the error! The ‘23 RC F will have electric parking brake, but I’m guessing it’ll be drum brake style like on the GS F and LC500. Basically there’s a motor that pulls the cable to activate the drum parking brake. I’ve just looked at the gs f parts diagram and it looks super complicated to install, and the actuator alone is $1500 lol. Not even sure if it would work with the IS/RC ecu
