I was going to buy the Napoleon Rogue XT 425 with the regular side burner because I use that side burner a lot for cooking either the pan or pot , almost everyday but I found reviews that says the hard plastic on the side of the grill melt when cooking with the side burner again regular no the other for sear . Napoleon is going to have a true radiant infrared searing burner. None of the webers will have.

How do the Rogue XT series compare to the Genesis II S-335/E-335 models? Seems like their infrared sear burner is a nice feature, and you can get 4 burners for what a 3 burner genesis II would cost. There’s not a lot of reviews of the different Rogue series.

The side sear is something that Weber doesn't have on ANY of their grills. The S-335 would be closest to the stainless XT's (stainless lid and stainless grates) while the E-335 would be closer to the black XT's with the painted exterior and cast iron cooking grates.

I was looking at one on home depot. It reads the grates are cast iron are the newer version cast iron rather than stainless steel?

I have looked at many Weber’s including the Genesis 2 and Spirit 2 in my search for a new grill. And while the Weber’s appear be of good quality, I feel they are very over priced for what they are, and for the features on them. They are also lower btu/kw ratings than the equivalent Napoleon models. I have decided that my next grill will be a Napoleon. I have also seen Weber owners complaining about the battery powered ignition failing and corroding during the winter.

Where does the side infra burner drop its grease??

Because of the high intensity of the infrared burner, most drippings and food particles that fall onto the burner surface are immediately incinerated. However, some debris and residue may remain. To remove this residue after cooking, operate the grill on high for 5-10 minutes.

Hello, Randy here. I would not suggest putting a pot over the sear burner. Napoleon does offer a model with a range top instead of sear top. That is what I would use for boiling of any kind.

@BBQGuys , yea the range burners cant boil water either because it wont get hot enough inside if an hour. Its one of the reasons no one uses their range burners.

Unfortunately all Rogue models are made in China, but Prestige and Prestige Pro are made in Canada. I had the same disappointment as you when I discovered this. But most Weber’s are also now made in China.
