Always here for a chat and or advice. Messages are easier on Facebook or Instagram if you have them. Kamados and very versatile buy can take some getting use to.

Superb content... Did a spatchcock Chicken and Leg of Lamb - for Easter. Normal roasties veggies in the kitchen did the meat on the Kamado - The Lamb was outstanding in the yellow zone 2hrs - 40mins resting, was juicy tasty, even had a lovely pink ring inside the edge.

This is not the right bbq for that style of grilling really. You would be better with a weber kettle if I'm honest

Great videos! Quick question on low and slow with smoke - if you have a second chunk of wood in, that’s starts unlit, to catch later through the cook, how do you avoid the white smoke when the fire spreads and catches the wood? Keep up the good work 👍
@BBQLIFE3 жыл бұрын
You can't however because of the heat in the kamado before it lights drying it out you get less white smoke

How do you clean the ceramic stone?
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
I scrape it when hot (if I remember) Flip it each cook and it burns clean. Alternatively warp it in foil and and change it each time

Now going through your various recipes.... spatchcock tonight....Ribs at the weekend. Every time we visit Hastings we come back with Hot smoked Salmon portions. Have you done this on the AK?

Why do we need to measure dome temperature? Is Probe inside the meat and on the grill level not enough?

Not everyone has a probe to measure ambient temperature.

I find the coals burn out quite quickly to do a low and slow. Any tips to change that or is it a case of simply adding more fuel?
@BBQLIFE Жыл бұрын
Add more fuel to begin with and just restrict the air flow to keep the temps down 👍🏻

Hi there, I'm moving away from my gas barb and was looking at a Weber kettle, would a Kamado be the better way to go?

Hi mate. Loving the videos, AK just arrived today and I've watched many of your vids already, I'm sure I'll rewatch as I start using it. Can't wait! Couple of minor channel things for your consideration, your hyperlinked urls in the description don't always work, I think they need to include the http bit. Sometimes your volumes are a bit up and down between clips, I need to readjust my phones volume to compensate. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing the channel grow. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback about the links I just built my website so will be directing people there where all the links are now. Hi. Would you recommend buying an electric rotisserie for the AK? 🤔
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
I don't have one for the AK Buy I do for my weber kettle and I love it. Lots of guys have them and love them for the AK. The question is would you use it? If so get on if not don't. Also do you have enouth storage to keep it?
@timkent43132 жыл бұрын

Hi could you tell me please how to cool down my kamado please.
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
The best way is shut down all tbe vents remove what your cook wrap in foil. Put a large pan of water/ ice in carefully. It will suck the heat out but it still takes a good 20 mins. Just be careful not to spill and liquid.

I've just had my AK delivered today and have set it up. The manual says to burn 250g to 300g charcoal to cure the unit. Iim doing this now. It advises not to let the temp go over 200 degreed but I can't get the temp past the 60 degrees. Also the bottom vent is incredibly stiff and hard to move is there any way to make this movement easier? Thanks for making so many videos. I've been watching them and decided to go for this BBQ. To add to my collection of Weber's.
@BBQLIFE2 жыл бұрын
Sounds like the inner vent (holes) is outside the outer vent (solid) see if you can swap then over if not speak to la hacienda and they will sort it. Here is a link about curing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/onynqWWZbKqniLM Also make sure tbe hole in tbe fire box ceramic is in line with the bottom vent
@00260289772 жыл бұрын
@@BBQLIFE thanks for the reply. I'll have a look tomorrow when it's light. It's cooling down now to put the cover on overnight. Should I unscrew the nuts on the bottom vent to see if the vents are in the wedding positions? I can close the outer vent over the vent with the holes. It's just a have to jiggle then adding before they move and even open I have to force them to move. It feels like i shouldn't have to fight with it to move it back and forth

There is no way to cool it down just shut the vents as soon as you are finished to extinguish the coals. After an hour you could open the lid but it won't drop instantly because tbe ceramic is ment to hold tbe Heat.

I like this channel. Good information. My only suggestion is to SHOW what your talking about instead of talking about it. There are a lot of visual-only learner's that need video input to teach them. What you're doing is kind of like reading instructions in a manual somewhere.. you're not taking full advantage of the video format of this channel. It's basically an audio podcast.
