Hey Good Morning 🎉 to you..! I'm new to watching your channel.. But not knew to Two Stroke engine's, I've blown up and melted down a few dirt bikes.. Heat is the Destroyer of two and four stroke engines.. Motorcycle mechanics have told me, that two stroke engines don't like constant RPMs.. I'm building a two stroke mountain bike to ride mostly around the subdivision where I live at 8,000 feet in the Colorado Rockies.. I'm still buried in Snow ❄️🌨️ Keep up the good work on your Adventures and Videos 🎉🎉

Thanks for the video LA.The motor sounded so smooth, and thank you for not constantly revving up and letting off like so many do while riding.A smooth speed shows the actual power of an engine without distracting by variations.I too find the rpm's an engine 'likes' and let it run there.

Good call.I had the 'spring-tensioner' allow a lock-up and wreck too.I use a sprocket instead of the plastic pulley to align the chain off the frame mount tensioner.I had it on the spring, but rough dirt roads and sudden engine let=off let the chain pile and seize.Still healing after 3 months.@@milolouisedit=This seize happened on 3 DAY old pavement,so it was smooth to cars, and Not bodies.

For reliability, I do a complete teardown and remove any casting flash or anything else that can break loose. I swap the crank bearings for good quality 6202 C3 bearings (C3 offers a bit more clearance for thermal expansion) and install good quality double lip oil seals (be sure to apply grease!), true and balance the crank (you can purchase one ready to go through either Smolik Performance or DLH Performance), and make sure all mating surfaces (intake, exhaust and cylinder base) are as flat as possible using either a flat file or sandpaper on glass. I also use Permatex motoseal to assemble the crankshaft halves.

I was given what we Thought was a YD-100 but it was base ported semi-round instead of the v-ish shape. You'll have to see it slow seize in my video.I Can NOT find a cylinder with that shape other than the CDH-110,but it has a 52mm piston, and it did Not fit the base by 1/4-1/3 " width of just the stud base.Maybe you know a cylinder with that space but maybe a 47-48mm piston,as I compared mine and it's so small to the 52mm piston.?.

I cannot stress this enough, beginners if you read this, you do not want to spend $250 on bbr or bicycle engines or anything else, a cheap $100-150 kit on amazon/ebay will give you about the same results. This one has better cooling yes, but not more power. You can get a kit without motor, and buy and LD90 for about 4hp with upgrades. Do porting work (match case ports, widen them, match intake and exhaust ports etc) for more hp. Upgrade head for better cooling. I got a wildcat ultra minarelli 6hp stock motor that I matched case ports, should be 7-8hp with jog pipe and nibbi19. Video on my channel tho
