Seen here is a ride on a R62A 1 train bound for 137 Street-City College.
To start off the New Year, is a ride on a R62A 1 train going up towards Harlem. Due to track replacement for the next 11 weekends, 1 trains will be truncated to 137 Street-City College. Passengers who need service to the Bronx would have to take a shuttle bus or use nearby A & C train service. There were three shuttle buses running in 3 parts:
Shuttle bus #1: 137 Street-City College to/from 168 Street-Washington Heights.
Shuttle bus #2: 168 Street-Washington Heights to/from 191st Street.
Shuttle bus #3: 207 Street to/from 242 Street.
I know I have done railfanning on the 1 before, however, this is a G.O. of which 1 trains won’t be going to The Bronx for the next 11 weekends due to track replacement.
Please note: It maybe a New Year but we still have to be social distant from each other, even when on the subway or the buses. The subway will still be closed from 1 A.M. to 5 A.M. So if you’re planning on riding the subway or the bus, wash your hands from home before leaving, maintain a social distance of six feet from others, wear a mask as you head out in public, and in case you need to adjust your mask, wear some gloves when adjusting. Enjoy!
*UPDATE: subway service is now 24 hours as of May 17,2021.
