You are not telling anything about the power draining on the phone if you connect 2TB harddisk with OTG. Can you please tell me the way to connect this 2TB harddisk to the mobile without Draining power?

Hi. In your video, Can you also play a file from the 2TB HDD while it is connected to your phone via otg? I guess what I'm trying to so is can open/play files from your 2TB HDD from your cellphone like a computer would without any issues? I am asking because I am planning to do this with a tab s. hi, will it work with redmi note 4 (recent model)? i want to transfer from action camera 64 gb memory card to 1 TB HDD for that i bought AMKETTE OTG USB HUB CARD READER DEVICE ,it said it will support upto 2 TB HDD if i use external power support as our phone run at 5v but to run 1TB HDD we need 7 v ... i did the same but my HDD just blinking but not connecting to phone . please help me with solution as i travel a lot & cant carry laptop to data transfer from memory card to 1 TB HDD .... expecting ur solution

Minakshi Das Make sure you have formatted the HDD in extFAT format instead of NTFS. Also there are many otg cables that don't support usb sync. So keep in mind that also. I am using Western Digital 2 TB HDD on my Mi A1 64 GB version and it is working perfectly fine except the huge battery consumption, it requires to power the hard drive.

Hi. I inserted my drive into my android ,at first and second use its working. I did browsed files from my HD. But on the third try the phone is not reading the drive anymore. I already tried to debug it using developer options and nothing happen. Do you have any suggestions to fix this up? Thank you

hi sir, I am not able to connect my phone with external hard disk. My gadget details are: -Samsung S8 -Western Digital 2TB in NTFS format -Y type splitter cable for external power supply -OTG adapter -Tried Total commander & Paragon exFat usb app Don't know why my phone is not mounting the drive. Note: Seagate 2TB mounted with all the above specifications. But not WD. Please help.

The normal WD Hard Drive doesn't support this, however the My Passport edition of WD will.

You don't need to format if your drive format is already exFAT. It is necessary if your hard drive is in NTFS format ( which mostly are, as it is much faster and better than exFAT). Android don't recognise NTFS format, so you have to format it in extFAT format.

Hii BCD Tech After watching this video I confused. Google Nexus 5: Accesories Review by BCD Tech with captions On ur above mentioned video u told to connect external hard drive with external power & in this video it's working without external power. Please clarify.......Can I use Seagate Expansion 2 or 4 TB which is already external powered. Is using external power as on Nexus 5 or self powered as on S5( in this video) is phone specific. Please help...

This new hard drive that is seagate backup plus requires only 500 mA to work, and that can be easily seen at the OTG end of S5. Where as Note OTG end cannot deliver 500mA continuously to HDD, so we need Y cable. Please note that the direct conncetion will drain the battery fastly

Thanks for ur reply & one more silly question what are the options to deliver external power supply except powerbanks. Should I buy one usb male to male cable & connect one end to my regular charger & another one to the Y cable. Will it work????

Sumesh Kumar Yes you can use the charger, but be sure that use a geniune samsung, sony or LG charger, that supply 5V

I guess it will support. Try connecting the hard drive if u have else any pen drive using OTG cable.

Bro is you phone started to drain when you connect this 2TB hardisk. Bcoz I experienced it. My phone battery started to drain from 31 to 0 within few minutes.. that's why I am asking this question to you..so plz reply me back.....thank you..
