Bcf have a range of rods, Savage salt, 6-10kg 12 foot long surf , really light and whippy but heaps of power down low, highly recommend, pair it with a diawa crosscast filled with 20 pound braid and cast a mile.

No. They are not really salmon. They are not a member of the Salmonidae family, but rather the Arripidae family, which are only really found around Australia and NZ.

@rickseifert51397 жыл бұрын
Ben Savage, he's on Australia, it's the best place for fishing for Australian salmon. All along the south coast of Australia is best places, here in Western Australia we get very big fish ad they fight hard and we'll, wonderful sport fish, the smaller ones just over legal size taste quite good if cooked straight after you've bled them.
@austinprosser41797 жыл бұрын
yeah kinda do, theyre kawai in NZ slightly different fish, very very very close but different and the ones usually in WA grow far bigger than the ones over in the SA, ive caught one near the metre mark and 20lb+, 4kg usually as big as you get them in SA
@tysonsfishingandcamping54956 жыл бұрын
I've caught an 80cm salmon in SA. Fishing at the coorong. But that's around as big as they get in SA for sure.

They're not even salmon... lmao they're Kahawai... We catch tons of them while fishing for actual salmon here in NZ. But you're not wrong on how to catch them... Biggest one I caught was 6.5kg in a river mouth.
@HelloHumanIAlsoAmHuman Жыл бұрын
Kahawai is the maori name for them, which is used in NZ. Australians don't speak maori, so they are called Australian Salmon here. Yes, we know they are not a true member of the Salmon family. But they aren't really a member of any other fish family either, so they are called Australian Salmon. Just like Kiwis call Blue Cod, which isn't actually a member of the cod family. Relax.

Loooks like a carpnor Pearce hybrid..not related to salmon and don't breed in freshwater like salmon do
@Slippindisc7 жыл бұрын
M Masseh S not in the trout family? They do have a slight resemblance to pacific salmon I have to say. Big weird scales like carp though, one long dorsal fin instead of dorsal/adipose fin. Interesting
@sambo22396 жыл бұрын
these fish actually are the only species in their genus/family (arripidae) . Definitely not related to the salmonid family, but we do have trout and atlantic salmon here.
