Ace was really dealt a rough card, he didnt know his dad all he knew was just this legacy that he couldnt or should i say wouldnt attach himself to, if the world knew of him he'd die at a pretty young age. growing up like that would be rough and i feel like he convoluted those feelings into a hatred or more of a conquering where he wanted to conquer his fathers legacy (sort of just surpass it). if he met rayleigh personally i feel like luffys journey would just become irrelevant after that. with what ace would learn i think he could stomp his way through the new world if he took a similar path to luffy, his haki would be insane thats if he would want to become the pirate king (which i dont think he would). whitebeard really gave him that sense of belonging that family which he could protect and cherish and i still think he would become whitebeards subordinate potentially his 1st division commander (if marco was sort of just promoted ish). ace was a really good character and his moments with luffy are always fun to watch. where we see luffy learn a lot from each fight and encounter he has in the new world learning advance observation haki to ryou ace would walk in with a lot of those tools and just easily move through which imo wouldnt make for much of a story strength wise. ace would move through the new world building character, new friends and enemies, itd be more learning about him and a life/spiritual journey than one that gears towards some passion some drive to achieve something great. hed still have that due to his conquerors haki but i feel it would be a completely different journey to luffy and fulfilling in a different way. i love aces character as it is and his deat will always be one of the saddest and my favourite moments in anime. (idk if i made any sense in what i wrote if i didnt sorry)

Silver can't train advance haki . It has been said that it can only been trained by figting difficult figth . That is why Raileigh stoped training Luffy after 1.5 years . Raileigh would have trained basics of Luffy , because as far as we know , we have ni clue if Ace haki cale close to Luffy one after the timeskip . Knowing that Luffy haki was pretty good in all area after TS . Ace would have been between Crackers and Smoothie level . In order to be at Marco or Beckman level it is only through live or death figth that it can happen . It is not just by training in a island that you can be at those guy level .

I always had a thought, if Ace fought jimbei, jimbei would have definitely used armament at that point if it was basically a draw. So this whole time ace knew of armament but still chose to chase after the whole crew of Blackbeard knowing one of them could have it and use it on him. Yea we know Blackbeard as his yamiyami and what that entails for any devil fruit opponent, but realistically it could have been just as bad if Blackbeard’s whole crew at the time could use armament. I know People already say whitebeard probably told ace of or taught him armament but When people talk about haki being an asspull to fight against logias, I like to think of this because it never made sense to me. Oda would probably just say Ace don’t give no fucks and went anyways lol. And to answer your question, if Ace was with Rayleigh enough then yea totally he would change his perspective on Rodger. No way Rayleigh would let ace think that way. Rodger was the fucking man.
