They all got money for crew and ships somehow and set sail to find whatever they could. they are all pirates with different goals/creeds. if blackbeard is a pirate then he has failed to amass a fortune (which is all your definition of a pirate woudl want). he has also been for the story more of a bounty hunter imo . he literaly poached off the division commander, then ace, then WB. he has no honor and lives of thieves. this is not the only form of a pirate, this is just the darkest version of it

He was only able to touch Ace because he basically temporarily took a hold of his fruit, making Ace a non devil fruit user when he hit him. The vortex isn't pulling people in, it's pulling the devil fruit energy towards BB and since it's in a body the person gets dragged along. When he killed white beard, he made sure to put enough holes in him so he can draw in the devil fruit powers into his body with black vortex. When a devil fruit user dies, the fruit abilities Leeves the body like a soul. When it does, BB just pulls it into his vortex as storage to either put into another fruit that he knows it bonds to because remember he memorized all the patterns to the fruits. I believe that BB witnessed Vegapunk studies to how he put the devil fruit abilities into things like swords and cannons by using the vortex of the past user hints why he had a book of known Devil fruits.

Cavendish also "doesn't" sleep. The only character known that has a second personality and only sleeps insane short amounts (in between the transformations) Perhaps a curse had been placed on Blackbeard even from a young age. Not wanting to sleep because that other demon-like part (demon like: look at Zoro, cursed swords, Cavendish etc) might kill everyone and maybe the curse even made blackbeard kill his family. Having no one around and not sleeping Blackbear slowly but surely befriended the demon and it's desire to destroy. However it had to be done smart, Blackbeard is the brain en the demon is the brawl. Both having a devilfruit. Maybe it works only at night with Blackbeard and that is why he used the black cloth to cover Whitebeard or maybe he covered himself from the sun.

My assumption based on countless theories I came across. I am not sure if someone has compared The will of "D" to "D"evil fruits. Both devil fruits and users of will of D are rare. Once the user of devil fruit dies the devil fruit respawns at the closest island. An individual with the will of D maybe can choose to pass down his will to anyone of his choice or an individual with the will of D can obtain/change previous users will of D or change the will of others. It could be possible that Black Beard has already inherited the will of Rocks, as rocks passed it down to him. At marine ford Hawk eye mentions that luffy is able to attract others, could be his will impacting others. WB mentions during his last moments roger isn't someone who is waiting for you to BB. MAYBE, Just MAYBE both will of D and Devil fruits continue to LIVE ON even after an individuals death. Thus explains why BB has two devil fruits/ two personalities and the words he mentions at times are not his own. THE WILL OF D FLOATS AROUND WHO KNOWS WHERE UNTIL IT FINDS ITS RIGHT INDIVIDUAL.

Blackbeard is the only villain i knew of in the series that doesn't do what the usual villain does in any anime. I don't even consider him a villain at this point, maybe an antagonist. His case isn't the same as your usual villain, who only wanted to do evil stuffs, the likes of enel who has god complex that wanted everyone to bow before him or the likes of rob lucci who's bloodlust can't be satisfied so the main protagonist have to defeat them in order to progress. While blackbeard is just out there living his life and chasing dreams. Yes he wants to be the king of the pirates, the same as luffy and every other pirates in the series, but that doesn't mean he wanted everyone to bow down before him like what enel wanted, as i said luffy even wanted to be pirate king. Heck, we can even view this series in blackbeard's perspective and most would agree that it could still be as interesting as luffy's journey. Edit: meruem from hxh is the only other villain i can see better than bb.

(the blue planet is earth, and if you see the comic cuts with enel in it when he goes to the moon (check out the manga tab on this website), you can see writings that say people of beerka migrated to the blue planet because of lack of resources.) the ship schematic that the people of beerka used to migrate is probably the one that tom (franky's dad) had. when the people from the moon (beerka) came down to earth, they accepted everyone to join and use their technology in peace and soon developed into a huge kingdom. however, a secret organization wanted to take the power and authority of the beerka for themselves and started a war. so the beerka developed two weapons to win the war. the weapons are named the pluton and poseidon. pluton runs underneath the ocean floor to change the tides of the sea to make a shied against enemy ships. later on traces of pluton's drilling underground builds up due to undersea volcano eruptions and becomes the "red line". furthermore, the calm belt and the grand line are formed which divided the ocean into four. poseidon is a cannon made from fairy bass (sand from the moon). the sand from the moon has a tendency of coagulating sea water and the solid form of sea water made from the moon sand was used as the cannon ball. later on, the cannon balls that were used during the war sank into the ocean floor and became ores called sea stones (the stones that devil fruit users are weak against). even with these extraordinary weapons, the people from the moon lose the war after 100 years of fighting. they conceal the two weapons (pluton and poseidon) so the secret organization cant use it for themselves. the survivors of the people of the moon hide away from the secret organization and take the shape of the half moon D to use as their middle name. (this explains monkey D luffy, portgas D ace, gol D roger and so on) the secret organization that betrayed and destroyed the people of the moon name themselves "world government" and started a project to hide their wrongdoings. 1. they erase the 100 years of history of the war. (the 100 years of history (the void century) that robin wants to find) 2. they send 20 soldiers to the moon to erase any trace or evidence of the people of the moon. (the 20 soldiers that were sent to the moon are later called world nobles and their offspring are treated like kings. this also explains why world nobles always wear space suits.) the survivors of the people of the moon make a small island called raftel so that the secret organization cant find them. one piece is in this island and gol d roger was the only person to find the island. the reason that luffy, ace, roger, and blackbeard are not on the island even when they're all D's is because the people of the moon wanted the world to know the evil deeds done by the government. they made poneglyphs (bits and parts of the 100 years of history) and placed it all around the world and sent out a selected number of their own people (D's) to find it and let the world know the truth. the beerka's (people of the moon) make one final secret weapon while they are on the island of raftel. this weapon's ability is to take the four seperate seas that were divided by pluton, and turn it back in to one huge ocean (AKA ALL BLUE (the ocean sanji always dreams of). because of its ability to turn four sea's in to one, the weapon is called "one piece".

So cavendish is a red flag - whenever he falls asleep the demon possesses him. Blackbeard DOES sleep but another person possesses his body. He has 3 people in his body with the potential to each control a different devil fruit... It would explain a lot. I really like this line of theorizing.

Teking 101 had a theory that black beard had multiple souls that's why he could have more then one fruit and if he needs sleep he has one soul sleep and the other active which would explain his personalities his nice side from before sky island his pure evil side like when he killed white beard and his kinda dumb side like when he tried to fight the warden

Lol im not sure its a matter of blackbeard having a high tolerance for pain but more so, he has no choice but to take it lol.. I mean, when he gets hurt, its not like he just makes a face, expressing pain, the man is rolling around in real PAIN... Its pretty easy to think someone has a high tolerence for pain, when they have no choice but to go through it

The no sleep actually makes more sense to tie in to the fact he dosnt dodge and why hes been repeatedly stated to be able to take mor damage then normal so it will still hurt him more then iron skin kaido but he will be able to take more of it before going down in saying that he has shown signs of slower movement if he can maintain that speed alone with the vortex abilitys infinite stamina could become a thing for him with the nurf of shit speed
