Maybe most of them are on par with their captain, if not stronger. Why do they follow him, then? Perhaps due to his beliefs. I think Shank's strength lies in more psychological, political & crew composition aspects rather than raw skill and brute force, although he may very well be as powerful himself as other Yonko's - who knows? Time will tell.

when analyzing a character, you have to talk about facts and put your personal attachment aside. that being said, a lot of people forget to take in count many things about shanks: he's the youngest of the 4 emperors, litteraly 30y younger than big mom for instance. when whitebeard/kaido/bigmom etc where already famous pirates, shanks wasn t even born yet. so, having a bounty 300mil weaker than bigmom and 600mil weaker than kaido doesnt mean anything, since those 2 are pirates for way longer and clearly show their will to become king of the pirates. we dont really know what shanks has done throughout his journey after roger's death, but he somehow managed to become an emperor ( with 1 arm ), and doesn t seem to be the kinda guy to put a mess everywhere he goes killing people etc ( even the gorosei think the same ). so, saying that shanks is the weakest of the emperor is based on absolutely nothing, the bountys cannot determine a character's true power in one piece, and in my opinion, all the emperor are in the same league level, they re all emperor so it just make sense that their level must be about the same more or less ( if we talk about 1v1) ,that doesnt mean one cannot beat another one of course.. and for all the people who think shanks is the weakest and that it s unthinkable that he could defeat kaido, just because he s the most "human" and all the others are " born monsters" giant , i dont understand them. i mean, the main character of the serie and his entire crew are all normal human (besides brook and the newcomers) this make no sense xD

When Shanks went to the World Government it was heavily implied it was either about Luffy or Blackbeard. I do agree it doesn't make sense for Shanks to go there about Luffy, his protégé, so OBVIOUSLY he went there to talk about Blackbeard. Bargo based off what we know Blackbeard most likely gave Shanks his scar during the year between the disbandment of the Roger Pirates and Roger's execution. Right before they went to Laugh Tale we see Shanks and he doesn't have his scar. During both chapter 0 and episode 0 Oda and Toei hide Shank's eye when he meets Yassop.

As far as we know, his strength has been recognized by Yonko Kaido, former-Yonko Whitebeard and his commanders, and Yonko Blackbeard, as well as the Pirate King Gol D Roger himself, whom he passed down the strawhat to, which says a lot and is something I believe we will learn more truth to later on in the series. The only one who hasn't really given him recognition that I know of is Big Mom, but she was annoyed when hearing his name, so maybe that is a kind of recognition, iono, but regardless, if he is meant to be Luffy's last major obstacle to prepare him for his final showdown with Blackbeard, he's gotta be at a level beyond all those Luffy has faced or currently facing thus far. Although, I do believe their will be a surprise to this challenge when it comes. Luffy must face both Shanks and Beckmann at the same time to prepare him for his battle with Blackbeard, due to Blackbeard's duality persona.

Yo Brago my theory has always been that he will show up at the end of Wano. He appears as a Straw Hat member on the character panels in the manga in the first volume of the Wano arc. That means that he will show up as an ally of the crew at some point which I theorize will be in the end of the arc, pararell to the end of the final arc of act 1 (there already have been a lot of plot parallels between act 1 and act 2, like the Alabasta and Dressrosa arcs or Ennies Lobby and Whole Cake Island), he will appear what will happen from there is a blur since I still don't know where the Blackbeard crew is headed. Oda just gave Shanks the scar to mess with our heads… Shanks is always relaxed but that scar got him worrying… meanwhile it’s always the scars that make the rivals… Oden scarred Kaido. Akainu scarred Luffy…. but the thing is BB gave him that scar at a very young age which now gives him an edge over shanks. It’s never a fair win with this guy and I think he will beat Shanks but in the most unfair way possible.

I have a theory. Shanks has been to laugh tale already. He's discovered the same thing Roger, Oden, Rayleigh, Gaban, etc. and the rest of the Roger Pirates did. Instead of laughing like his Captain did, he shook at the information regarding the void century. This is what makes Shanks a pacifist, he's seen what the void century was and that if anyone that is the complete opposite of Roger discovers what the One Piece is (Blackbeard) he can use this treasure/information to plunge the world into an all out war that not even the WG and the Yonko can prevent. This is the reason why he went to the Gorosei to warn them about a certain pirate. Key word "certain" this can either be Blackbeard or Luffy. Blackbeard will use this information/treasure AKA the One Piece to finish what Rocks D. Xebec has started and it'll be Chaos all over again. Innocents would be caught in the crossfire. Now, this can also be Luffy, because we all know Luffy has a tendency to liberate people who have been oppressed by tyrannical regimes, this is mainly how his bounty have risen. If luffy discovers the one piece, void century, this will enrage him to the point that he'll declare war on the WG. Shanks, even if he does not like the way the WG operates, wants to keep the status quo of balance. If luffy declares war to free all those oppressed by the WG , the balance of power would crumble and whether luffy knows about it or not, innocents would be caught in the crossfire. This is why Shanks have a probable uneasy alliance with WG. He knows what the one piece is and he knows its power could disrupt the balance.

I think that kid shanks when he was with roger went to fight alongside roger and the crew against the whitebeard pirates, he faces off against blackbeard who slashes him with the claw weapons he used to use, shanks keeps the scar. Might've also been a reason on why he was covering his eyes when at roger's execution but has the scars when picking up yassop from syrup village not too long from that. Also underrated outro

Why Shanks is the Strongest in the verse confirmed. Before I start, there will be alot of Assumptions in this post, but ALL the assumptions, are BACKED by what is SHOWN/STATED in the Manga. Theyre not assumptions made from thin air. The Titles. Kaidos title is Literally a Contradiction. “ Worlds Strongest Creature “ is the official title fair enough . “People say on a 1v1 , bet on Kaido “ is not a title. Thats what “ PEOPLE SAY” The people of One Piece based on Morgans news and word of mouth, Believes the legend and myth of Kaido as the strongest, so the SAYING “ In a 1v1, bet on Kaido “ is born. *Thats not Oda Telling us Kaido is officially the strongest Character in One Piece. Oda has NEVER been that straight to the point about Anything, except for Titles* Example: Who is Stronger Zoro or Sanji? Never been stated. Most will Assume its Zoro based on Feats and Portrayals and thats Fine, but Oda has never OFFICIALLY stated who is stronger. Kaido is not the exception. IF IT WAS true, In a 1v1 kaido will always win, THEN WHY DOES IT SAY “He has been defeated 7 times” ??? That makes no sense if he always wins in a 1v1. Sure he might have lost because its a 2v1 or a 3v1 against him, but the Panel shown in Chapter 1001, PROVES hes done Multiple 1v1s, AND LOST. Shanks is in that Panel. This Proves Shanks is the strongest in the verse. All the theories of everyone saying “ they made a deal and no fight occurred “ is out the window. There is no way in hell Kaido would put shanks in with the rest of those guys and say “ that can fight me “ if they havent already fought in the past. Where is the only time we know they’ve “encountered” each other ? During the marineford war. For those saying that’s impossible because shanks and his crew arrived flawless : wrong. There wasnt any Noticeable damage but that doesnt mean he wasnt weakened somehow (and yet he was still down to take on ANYONE during that war). The main point here though is that it was a Crew Vs Crew fight, which is why Shanks didnt have any noticeable damage. If its a Crew vs Crew fight, I can Definitively say Shanks has the strongest crew No Doubt. If you think otherwise, you can drop reading TwoPiece. Its Already been stated in the Manga and Just recently in the Anime episode 958, Shanks Crew is Undefeated and Is the Most Balance of any of the Yonkos. Dont forget, in that Panel there is only 1 person alive and thats Shanks. Remember this : People trying to defend Kaido saying “there was no fight, a deal was made” actually only made Kaido looked even Worse. Kaido isnt the type to Listen to ANYONE, he just does whatever the Fuck he wants and The Fact that Shanks can persuade Kaido to DO WHAT HE SAYS without having to fight Proves how much respects Kaido has for Shanks (which is just shown in this chapter), and realized it was probably better this way because if they fought, Kaido would probably Lose. So shanks went to the gorossei to tell them about sabo, he figured out that sabo is gonna attack them so thats why they were prepared, hence what happen at the revery. so sabo lost a fight obviously and is presumed dead, and the WG said that he killed vivi and attempted to murder cobra. but in reality he somehow run away with her after an explosion where everyone thought they died. now he is banging vivi while she tells him about luffy and their story. kinda same vibe that was between yamato and ace. damn that fire fire fruit makes you hot as fuck, no girl can resist you.

Well, The hype build around Shanks is way too big at this point, I personaly don't think that there is anyone stronger than him, and that the scar left by blackbeard was a "backstab" kinda attack, but that's only because anything less from Shanks wouldn't fit what they've shown to us, and Blackbeard hasn't shown any kind of real raw strengh. Stopping the war and holding Kaido were two big actions, but for me the defining moment is he walking into the Gorosei, how easily he got to do that atleast in my eyes, shows that the world gov know they can't stop him, and since he is not interested in the One Piece, they kinda let him to what he likes, cuz Shanks is also not bothering them. At the end, the only thing I don't want to happen is him dying.

I believe that when Shanks's was recruiting his crew, he wanted a good swordsmen on his crew. So Shanks's tried to recruit Mihawk, and since I believe that Mihawk is just like Zoro and won't follow someone that is weaker or equal to him. So they fought and had a draw so Mihawk didn't join Shanks's crew. Shanks is probably just as stubborn as Luffy when it comes to recruiting someone he wants. So Shanks's went after Mihawk to recruit him whenever he got the chance. This started before Shanks and Mihawk's name became well known throughout the world. Mihawk could have been almost been Shanks's first mate. So they been equals for all this time till Shanks lost his arm, when Shanks lost his arm he needed a new fighting style to make up for it, and he has to make his only arm stronger to make up for his lost arm. For example something that Shanks could only lift with both of his arms, he could no longer lift said item with one arm. So when Mihawk and Shanks clashed again after he lost his arm. Mihawk could tell that Shanks got weaker with one arm, and then Mihawk refused to fight Shanks now because he wouldn't of had any fun fighting him anymore. To Mihawk fighting a weaker Shanks would be boring for him. So Mihawk was waiting for Shanks to get stronger so when they finally fight again it'll be fun again. As of right now I believe Shanks is stronger then Mihawk. And Right now things are changing fast in the current One Piece world. To adapt the new change in power that is happening right now the warlords are gone, and whatever may happen after Wanno. The balance between the Yonko and World Government is current going to be in the Government's favor when Kaido and maybe Big Mom is beaten. And I believe that to restore the balance again Shanks is going to need a stronger crew. So Shanks is going to go after and recruit Mihawk. Mihawk is still going to be the worlds best swordsmen when everything is said and done. Because Shanks is no longer just a pure swordsmen anymore, I believe Shanks's current fighting style uses kicks and swords play. This is my theory on Shanks's current move right now. In Shanks's crew he is the Captain, and he's only missing a swordsmen. Let's be real Zoro wouldn't of join Luffy's crew if he wasn't about to be killed.

Stopped the battle of MF just by talking. What kind of things do you think he had to do to gain that much 'fear' from Sengoku as even Kizaru stopped chasing Luffy. After that he faced off against BB. Blackbeard clearly told the old generation of Marines that he would take their heads. But when Shanks asks what he wants to do BB tells that they're not prepared to face him (but they were prepared to kill off the strongest marines ??). He wasn't a Yonko when he lost his arm, but he became a Yonko after losing it. (his dominant hand nonetheless ). Big Mom is not mentioned because of their recent alliance. None of the yonko see BB as a thread except Shanks. But I do think they will kill Shanks off by BB, become a liaison with the World Nobles/IM as I do think he know him and not be part of any of the piracy going in the NW but join efforts to stop the Revolutionaries as he likes stability and peace (BB will be left to Luffy). I think this will be either scenarios.. 'Do not wake up a sleeping dragon'

I've always labeled Shanks to be top3 in the verse/series. Not just because of his personal power and power of his crew. But because of the undeniable influential person that he is overall. In the game of Chess. Shanks to me wouldn't be the King or Queen pieces nor a pawn. But that leaves him to be 1 of the 6 other pieces who all play their roles in the game. Shanks will definitely fight BlackBeard off screen sometime during Wano final fight or shortly after. I think it's crucial for Shanks as a Yonko to actually participate in high tier fight at least once during the "present" timeline. Otherwise the character is not justified. It is very unlikely to have Shanks battling World Government considering that he was kind of on the "friendly" term with Gorossei during the Reverie arc and that will be aligned with his "peace making" role in One Piece. Oda said that after Wano end the series will be about 80% completed, so we probably have 2 major arc left to fill the remaining 20%. One will of course be around the One Piece itself and Laugh Tale. The last 2 major protagonist after Wano would only be Blackbeard and World Government. I'm thinking that Blackbeard would be the opponent to be fighting for the title of Pirate King, while the other major arc after Wano would be directly about World Government and to conclude the Revolutionary army and Reverie stuff that was kept silent. It would make more sense to have the final One Piece fight for the last major arc, simply because if the One Piece is revealed together with the Void Century then most mysteries are solved and climax is reached making the next arc to be more of a conclusion arc and be anti-climax. However, for the World Government to actually be beaten without the truth being unfold is also somewhat weird, because the new authority that rise to power replacing Imu and Gorossei would need the information on the Void Century to actually do something different from the status quo. If we talk about the geographic level, then it makes more sense to have One Piece or Laugh Tale first before reaching the other side of Red Line and destroy it to achieve All Blue etc. Oda will definitely have the best version of the story to be tell and I will be satisfied as long as all of the mysteries are solved, unless he wants to have a sequel afterwards.

Proably like a travel swordsman roaming around passing the time if mihawk did had crew would be very interesting. Kinda want learn about mihawk life who taught him the way of the sword what was purpose to get that recognition to be call the world strongest swordsman

I think Mihawk was a pirate for quite some time hence his wanted poster. I believe he's a lone wolf, roaming around the one piece world looking for a qualified swordsman to have an even battle with.

Lol I always felt like he wasn’t but since he is a powerful individual that is not under the government banner then he has to get a bounty. One thing that the government hates is freedoms and when you look at MIhawk he is a free man. You can’t have a dude like that just roaming around

My theory about Lucky Roo is that he's the fastest dude in the world(devil fruit?) As the name says, it comes from Lucky Luke, a cowboy who could draw his gun faster than his shadow. Lucky Roo also used a gun. For me this theory is the most realistic one. It's also funny if you think about it, because you wouldn't expect a fat dude to be very fast. 🤔

Shanks is a Yonko, one of the four most powerful pirates in the entire series. He was shown to be able to equally clash with Whitebeard, so why are we surprised that he's considered top tier and able to injure Kaido? This is a weird discussion to even have tbh cause it's so obvious. Blackbeard despite having two devil fruits is the weakest Yonko. It's unknown if he possesses conquerors haki like all the others and I doubt he does. He used underhanded tactics to get the title of Yonko. Also a damn near dead Whitebeard easily beat him at Marineford.
