Your diagnoses doesn’t have to be a life sentence.

Full recovery in the sense return to baseline in CFS is extremely rare and according to other studies happens only for people in the first 5 years of CFS, most people over time improve to a lesser stage of CFS, some have remission for 10 years but get ill again. It's misleading to say this is not a life-long disease, because it is in fact a chronic disease. You can get better yes, but you will not become a body builder or athlete in your future. It is also not guaranteed that staying below your threshold (pacing) will mean a non disabled life for you. Adjusted lifestyle doesn't mean you are healthy.

Yes. I'm living an adjustment life working 28 hours a week and keeping my house clean. But every time I want to start with exercise, my symptoms come back. Am I truly recovered?

I've seen people go back to being athletes, and even running ultramarathons.

You're not alone. 🫂 I've been in this almost 10 years myself! House/couchbound again at the moment, but I've come up from this place before. Things do ebb and flow, spontaneous remissions happen for people too! Don't give up hope on improvement, your life is important 💕 You're loved.
