Jocko, I'm a student vet and your videos are about as refreshing as it gets. I'm in a pretty hard science major, and I recently was awarded an undergraduate science scholarship for research. My GI Bill is about to run out, so the school's paying all of my tuition, insurance, and gives me a monthly stipend. I work my ass off and while I'm not as much of a warrior as you, every trait that's led to my success is highlighted by your videos. There is a ton of shit that I need to work on, but as of right now, I'm not only going to be the first in my family to graduate college, but I'm on track to get my MD/pHD and make a difference. You're videos are motivating. There's no bullshit. When I'm on hour eleven of studying a chemical mechanism, biochemistry, physics, physiology, or working in the lab, I listen to your videos and regain my focus. You verbalize the internal drive, and it makes a difference. Keep making these videos, they're the shit. there's a lot of us that eat this up.

Badass black and white video. It's like watching a scene from an old classic movie. The lighting, camera angles and dialogue are perfect. I'm impressed.

This makes a lot of sense if you think about it and dissect the information. Can’t forget the little goals that leads you to the big goal

Amado Simmons I forgot where exactly I saw this but the dude said. Have your major goals but after they have been determined, shelf them and focus on what you need to do now. Breaking down your major goals into incremental steps.

Jocko, I went to Marine Corps boot camp last year, and I got ELS for a prior medical issue I don’t have anymore. I have the option to go National Guard and maybe transfer in to the Marine Corps if I can get a waiver for my prior condition. I have been living with that goal, and you continue to inspire me. Thank you for speaking truth, your book has helped me far more than I can say. It makes me see what I knew, in a way that I can process daily. Regardless of how it turns out, the attempt of going for my goal and learning what I have so far, it has all been worth the effort. Thank you.

Darren Henley Keep getting after it. I had an issue hold me back from becoming a tractor trailer driver when I was 40. I had that window of opportunity close on me because I was unable to address the issue at that time. At nearly 46 years old I became a tractor trailer driver. That was last June. After being a driver working directly for the company for four months I am now a lease operator. It took lots of jumping through hoops, but I persevered, and you can do the same for your goal. Just like when I wanted to get in the Navy at 17 with a sixth grade education, and no sight of a G.E.D. . Studied hard, and long for the A.S.V.A.B, got a technical rating (M.O.S.) and did four years. Didn't get my G.E.D. until I was 39. None of it was easy, and I'm not a high drive kind of person. Just your average guy trying to live my dream, be clean and honorable. Best wishes for you!

The basics are well established. Clarity to the main goals and the process to them, depending on a few circumstances, are all realistic, cost effective, and productive.

You make everything sound like its just a matter of GETTING it done. Unfortunately it's not that easy. And you can't just overcome conditioning, or figure it out. How do we do it? Glad Echo asked for more. How about developing confidence to believe in what we feel it is we need to be clear about? It's not even human nature to plan that far ahead.

Jocko NO you dont have to have credit to buy a house
@galahad61893 жыл бұрын
True, but you do need good credit to get a loan, and a mortgage is a form of loan. You can get a larger loan with a better credit score and with a poor credit score you could be refused for a mortgage, though this is rare. It's still a good goal to build a good credit score in order to be trusted to take large loans, which in business and in life are invaluable at times.

you only speak in regards to a very specific life style. i love jocko and motivates the hell out of me but thier are peoeple that simply have other goals in life, money doesnt mean anything to them nor property. Some people just wantot exist outside the system and be happy. Speaking from SWIM. AMazing advice everytime though.
@galahad61893 жыл бұрын
But that's still a goal. And you need to know what you want to do, how to get there and when you're gonna stop.

jason bond is a con artist, he buys a lot of shares of a penny stock, then tells his followers to buy it because it's a hot stock, when everyone buys it and it jumps the price up to the roof, he cashes out and sells all his shares making a profit while you have a worthless stock
