This is wonderful Nancy. I have a very wonderful life, but there are times I don't appreciate it as I should. The positive attitude is so helpful, and even when I don't feel like "being positive", it somehow turns my mind around. One thing that works for me, is to get out of my own way and go for a walk with my dog, then I see other people and with eveyone I see I smile and say, good morning or a little kind word. It always works for me. When I smile and really look at others, they smile too, and that makes me happy and lifts my mood instantly!

That was very brave of you to share that story on camera. I don’t think I could do it. My mother died of lung cancer. During her home hospice we would watch a show about wedding planning. She would give a thumbs up or a thumbs down on the dresses and decorations. She had lost the ability to speak. I remember those times fondly and whenever I see those shows it reminds me of that time. I’m glad you had puzzles. I can see that as meditative.

Marina, thank you for sharing such a personal and touching memory. Hearing how you and your mother connected over wedding planning shows during such challenging times is heartwarming and made me smile! 👍👎Memories like these, even amidst pain, can become beautiful reminders of the love and bond you shared. It's true, sometimes the simplest activities, like puzzles or watching shows, can provide comfort and solace. Your strength and ability to cherish those moments is admirable. Sending you love and comfort. ❤🌼

Thanks for the nice video and for sharing part of your journey with us. At 70, I have experienced a lot, death, divorce, financial hardship and serious illness. The ability to maintain or maybe the word is regain a PMA ( positive mental attitude) throughout these difficulties has been the key to a happy life. The other key, to me anyway, is not to worry about tomorrow. I don't mean not to plan, because I am a thorough planner. But simply to not spend your valuable life in worry. I am a religious person and my faith has been a life saver.

Cathy, thank you for sharing such profound insights from your journey. Your strength, resilience, and unwavering PMA in the face of life's challenges is truly inspirational. I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment of living in the present and not letting worry steal our joy. Your deep faith shines through your words and is a beautiful reminder for many of us. Thank you for being a beacon of hope and positivity. Sending you much love and blessings. 💛🙏

Thank you! - perfect timing to hear this - it is so easy to only focus on the negatives especially when it feels like the hits just keep coming - I am going to really focus on finding the happy in the small things - I also love jigsaw puzzles, crochet and needlepoint but lately I have not been feeling in the right mindset to enjoy them - and they are all gathering dust - realizing I have been in a very negative spiral and creating an all or nothing mindset for myself - planning to repeat watch this video and take things a day at a time

Becoming caregivers to our ailing parents are definitely difficult times. My dear mom was bed ridden for 9 long months before her passing and just like puzzles helped you through your journey, adult colouring helped me through mine. I would sit by mom’s bedside and colour where my thoughts would take me to a more peaceful place. Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved mom.

Thank you for sharing your story. I lost my mom almost four years ago. Actually, we lost her before that. She wasn’t diagnosed with dementia. But we all knew she had it. She went into a nursing home and was there for two years before she passed. She raised seven kids by herself. And she was always an optimist. I think I inherited that from her. I’m usually happy. There are some bad days. But I’m way more optimistic than my husband. So someone has to be in my house. He worries about everything. He overthinks everything. I don’t let anything worry me anymore. It does no good. I had some health scares about ten years ago. And I survived everything that was thrown at me. So that may have made a difference in my attitude. Plus, we moved to another state. We live closer to most of our grandkids. And I got away from my husband’s toxic family, and some of my toxic family members. And I’m much happier than I was when I was around all those people. I also do a daily puzzle on my iPad everyday. Sometimes I skip it. But most days I do it. No matter how long it takes me. And they are small puzzles. I bought some paint by numbers. But I haven’t gotten them out yet. I’m kind of waiting for the weather to get cooler and I’ll be inside more. I enjoy being outside when the weather is nice. So I will be getting started on the paintings I bought soon. Because it’s starting to cool down here.

Pamela, Thank you so much for opening up and sharing your personal journey. Losing a loved one, especially someone as pivotal as a mother, can be deeply painful. It's heartwarming to hear that your mother's optimism left such a lasting impact on you. Being an anchor of positivity, especially in a household where worry is prevalent, is no small feat. Your resilience, especially in the face of health scares, is truly commendable. It's inspiring to hear how you've actively chosen happiness, distanced yourself from negativity, and found solace in simple joys like puzzles and anticipating your paint-by-numbers. Nature has its healing ways, so I'm glad you're making the most of the outdoors. Wishing you all the warmth and serenity as the seasons change, and I hope your upcoming paintings bring you as much joy as they will surely bring color to your days. Take care, and keep shining. ❤
