I act soft around anyone who I have a crush on and I used to beat myself up about it, like, “why can’t I sound more confident around him?” But I reflected on that and I decided that being soft is how I am when I feel excited and safe and happy and I should embrace that more :)

My students all tease me for being so soft, and the thing is yes I’m soft with them because once they graduate, the number of people who will show them softness will continue to dwindle as they grow older. I’m balanced with adults and soft with my friends, but if I’m upset I’m going to be sharp with anyone 😅
