Be Still, My Soul (Tune: Finlandia - 4vv) [with lyrics for congregations]

"Be Still, My Soul" is the English translation, made by Jane Borthwick in 1855, of Catharina Amalia Dorothea von Schlegel's 1752 hymn, 'Stille, mein Wille, dein Jesus hilft siegen'.
The tune is 'Finlandia', taken from the main theme of Jean Sibelius' 1900 tone poem, Finlandia.
This performance is by the Scottish Festival Singers.

I am sorry for your loss. Death is so hard for those that are left behind. I lost my husband last summer and sometimes the grief is overwhelming. Beautiful hymns such as this are soothing. We will meet again!

My grandfather's funeral had this hymn as closure of the sad event. He was 93 and had lived a good life in Christ. I sang this for him with all my soul, my beloved old man

I have an addiction to alcohol. I'm scared to take up my cross. I'm scared to die to self. I'm scared of the waiting period between denial and rescue. I don't understand how to take His yolk upon myself, what an 'easy and light' yolk and burden looks like. scared this is mine to endure alone, and I don't have there wherewithal, the desire or capacity to lay it down. I'm afraid of the emptiness and how long before I am filled by Him. This hymn speaks to me. I am conflicted about my responsibility and His in this issue.

I was addicted to sin also. If my Lord Jesus could rescue me, he can also rescue you if you fully trust in him. Blessed sabbath. Peace to you. I am at church today because I love the Almighty Lord Jesus, and he is sanctifying me. I can work sunday the first day of the week. In the new earth, the pure Christians shall worship God in his new moons, and his sabbaths. There will be no sunday church goers in the new earth nor in heaven. The saints shall be in the new earth for eternity, not heaven. Have a good sabbath.

I like the lyrics, but the audio quality sounds bad. Amen. Praise the Lord that I know him. Now, we need to tell others. Our Lord Jesus died for the sins of humans, not angels. I know miracles do happen because I have seen an actual man walking on water. Eternal life depends on obeying the Lord Jesus, who is the pure Word of God. I and other pure Christians shall spend eternity in the new earth, not heaven.
