I once knew a guy who would emphasize how there are two paths: you can earn more, or need less. I spent decades on the "earn more" treadmill, trying to get to a "need less" lifestyle. It didn't work. Now I find myself much happier and healthier simply with "need less", though it's not the lifestyle I imagined back in my "earn more" days. There are lots of consumer goodies I just need to forego, but it turns out that isn't as big a sacrifice as you think. A good mindset to cultivate is that if it proves unreachable, it wasn't meant for you. Basically- Amor fati. love your fate.

good thoughts. i have been preparing the last few years for the changes brought on by AI, i retired early from IT, invested in AI stocks and took off for Southeast Asia. im where i need to be. im also enjoying watching the advancements now instead of fearing them. its a radical mind shift.

I just changed a decision I've been waiting 5 years for in the last 2 hours because it didn't seem right anymore. Then I load this up about listening to the universe to live in radical alignment. I'm fairly anti-superstition but when reality and chance are salsa dancing it's an interesting place to be.

Couldn’t agree more, I’ve been increasingly growing antsy with my current professional set and setting. It is an interesting situation. It wasn’t until my early thirties that I’ve gotten a half decent break to try and make something of my life after repeated unfortunate circumstances. This only to find out just how comically misaligned the first design firm I landed with after nearly becoming homeless again during the pandemic turned out to be. While I have been getting a financial cushion under me again, I’ve uncovered a silver lining in secretly studying my employer to better understand how I can better succeed at the greater intentions I have been silently working on. Unconventional times demand unconventional dynamics, and no matter who we are the right pieces and people, however distant seeming they may be, will as though under the law of gravitation find each other.
