Thanks for pointing this little nugget out. The wife and I will have to try it. I had to laugh when you were describing the lake weather. My brother lives east of Ludington. Any time Ludington gets an inch or two of snow, my brother gets hammered. The "Lake-Effect" snow can be crazy! This past winter he had snow up and over his car and had to dig it out before he could drive into town. But when he drove the 10 or 15 miles into Ludington they'd only gotten maybe 3 inches. He was so mad! lol. Thanks again for this campground suggestion.

3.5 hours; but don't go; we want to be able to get into this park as it is one of the 3 or 4 hardest to get into in the State Park system!!!

It's actually quite nice. Remember this is Michigan, with summertime temps in the 80s, but also with the predominant West wind blowing across that inland ocean called Lake Michigan, it is quite pleasant.

Like California beach camping; the lake is about 500 ft from this campground; easy to cool off
