Just found your channel and you are in my home city. I live not too far from the camp ground you stayed at. I think our state is amazing! However our winters can be brutal. The snow and wind blowing off the lake is hard and very cold. Which is why my husband and I leave after Christmas and return in mid March. We are called snowbirds and head to Florida! If you get a chance please make sure you visit Mackinw Island and our great Mackinac bridge someday. You will not regret it. Forgot to tell you the red light house in Holland is called “Big Red”.

This just popped up in my YT feed so I had to watch. Always great to see the perspective of people from out of town. I've lived in Holland for 27 yrs from Iowa and it's still easy to take it for granted! I trained on those stairs for 6 months for a backpacking trip in the Rocky Mtns! I can attest too that they're climbable in the snow...just a little different! :) Safe travels!

Hi Chad. We really enjoyed Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. Holland was one of our favorite towns. Stan was born in the Netherlands. Those stairs were fun. Thank you for sharing 👏We didn’t know anything about the Tulips when we were there and learned later that it’s a big deal in the Spring🌷 We were there on Labor Day weekend and unfortunately the season was over like your mom found out. Kinda glad we didn’t know about it, because I would have been crushed like your mom was if I was expecting it and missed it. 🥹 The lake looks so much like an ocean and then to see sandy beaches like that was amazing! We both grew up in So. Cal near the beach and this reminded us both a lot of our beaches. We bet this was an impressive sight to see for Dottie! Such contrast to what she was used to. We left the snow behind in the So. Cal mountains and although we miss the seasons, we don’t miss the snow ❄️ 🥶 It sure is a nice place to visit though. We did get to try the Michigan sweet corn, we think, lol. We bought a bunch of that corn at the Farmer’s Market! So good! Thanks for explaining why the mosquitoes weren’t biting! Makes more sense than my answer, they were full 😂 Have a great night!! Love to you both!! Rhonda and Stan

@@OverTheHillAdventures - Yeah, the skeeters, stable flies (big biting flies aka Horse Flies) and No-See-Ums can be quite vicious during June and July. Only a stiff breeze keeps them under control. @OverTheHillAdventures Жыл бұрын
Hello Lisa, thank you for joining us.🙌 As for the e-bikes it all depends on what kind of riding you do. Our mountain e-bikes are pretty high end pro bikes. We have E-bikes made by Giant Rhonda’s is a Liv Intrigue X E Pro 1 made for women by women. Stan’s is a Giant Trance X E Pro 2 29. Both these bike are about $6,400 a bike. So if you mountain bikes these bikes are the best bang for your buck. This is a mid range e mountain bikes. The Specialized and the Trek are 10K to 14K a bike. We are currently testing ebikes called 5th Wheel e-bikes.. These are entry e bikes. They are light weight, cheap, foldable, and very easy to transport. We are putting a video out hopefully next Sunday. We are testing two types. The 5th Wheel Thunder 1 Fat Tire for all terrain riding. It’s a great bike so far. There cheapest bike is the Thunder 2. Inexpensive, folds down real small easy to store. I would recommend this bike for folks that want to ride around the campground or down to the camp store. You can ride them on paved or dirt flat trails. These bikes easy to ride. They have a thumb throttle once you start to pedal. The are Class 2 e-bikes and don’t go over 20mph. Go to www.5thwheelebike.com. They are on sale and you can use our Promo code: OTHO80 for an $80 discount. Hope this helps let us know if we can offer any other information. Blessings, Stan and Rhonda❤️🙏🏼

Another interesting video! Rhonda, don't worry about those glasses. They looked just fine on you! Went through Holland MI when I was a kid. Mom wanted to see the tulips but dad warned her the season was over and there probably wouldn't be any (it was right before Labor Day Weekend). He was right. Mom was crushed. It was a beautiful drive, though. That was more than 60 years ago (which tells you how old I am 😮😂). The skeeters weren't biting because y'all had a good, stiff breeze off the lake! The first time I introduced Dottie to the Great Lakes 45 years ago, she though they were part of the ocean. She grew up in the deserts and mountains in Colorado and Utah, had never seen fireflies before or so much greenery or so much water. She really enjoyed it though! Winters in Michigan can be quite raw. If you are near the Lake Michigan shore, lake-effect snow would leave you wishing you were back in Lake Havasu City again. The UP can be even more brutal in the winter. Did y'all get a chance to try some Michigan Sweet Corn? We hope y'all did! Looking forward to the next video! Safe travels and God bless y'all!
