The glass floats are coming out of old growth and debris and I'm just amazed at just how many you find still popping out of the sand. Good to see you doing what you love to do 'Flying and Fossicking' Keep on keeping on. Cheers Mate👍👍👍😎💨🏴☠☮☮

I love watching your videos and seeing all those beautiful glass floats. But I have a suggestion. When you find the plastic and styrofoam floats. If you have room, maybe you could take them back with you so they don’t go back into the ocean. It breaks my heart that there is so much plastic and trash in the oceans. You had a great day for sure.❤

Happy to see another video, thank you. I would love to have some glass floats. My mother had some when I was little, they still had rope on them, I dont know what happened to them, but I loved them. 🤗

I found one in false pass in May 1985. We had to wait for the tide so we didn't start drifting because the current would be faster than we were. It sat a while the net was gone, but it left a net mark where it protected it from sand erosion. I will keep it forever.
I don't know what to say...my wife would love to find just one but we live down south and go to the gulf and East coast never found any...you have thousands in Alaska!!! wow still amazed🤯

Well that's just magical! I really loved your camera footage of them out in the wild. It makes me happy that you are able to gather them up and get them back out to people who will appreciate them. That new, ugly plastic has got to go.

Awesome video, just became a subscriber. Worked at a FBO in Kentucky after the Navy and 100 low lead was very expensive. I can only imagine what it goes for today? What a perfect way to supplement the cost of fuel. Im A little jealous, lol.. win win situation

There was a contest in Washington state where glass floats were released, I'd found a green one, still in its woven twine netting. It was the July after Fukushima, and thought it was from that. However upon inspection I found a small inscription etched by hand on the bottom. I don’t remember exactly what it said. It lead me to the contest info, that was three months after the contests end. Just be glad it's not a group of occupied sneakers!

What exactly are those glass balls or where are they from? How did they get into the ocean? It is SO fun to see you finding them.

These glass floats are no longer used by fishermen, but many of them are still afloat in the world's oceans, primarily the Pacific. They have become a popular collectors' item for beachcombers and decorators. Replicas are now manufactured. FISHERMAN'S TRASH😊

Those glass floats are really neat! What a shame they replaced them with plastic to litter the oceans with 😬😳

Can those break easily?

You can probably dip them in acid to take the frosting off from the sand erosion.

I used to find the larger floats back in the 70's but are really scarce now. Haven't found a larger one in years.

What are these things?????
@alaskaglassfloatscom Жыл бұрын
All the glass balls in the pictures were netted and that's how they were attached to foreign high seas drift nets. The sun ruins the netting over time and they break free and wash up on the beach.
