Fanfic writers seeing “Portal Materia” becoming a real thing: 👀 On a more serious note, I’ll be *shocked* if this magic doesn’t get brought up in the “Remake” trilogy somehow. Also, I wonder if Cloud getting hired as security at Costa del Sol is a hint at a future sidequest in “Rebirth”? 🤔

SE did mention years back Ever Crisis will be related to FF7 Remake some how but forgot in which interview due to being years ago. I won't be surprised if Portal Materia ends up being revealed to be involved with FF7 Remake changing the timeline events.

Reminds me of the portal from Kingdom Hearts 3D and the time skimmer from Mega Man (Archie Comics) that I read back then. At the same time, they(dev.) are indeed plotting something with this 'different timeline/time jumping' for the FF7 series. Since the 'catastrophic event' happened on FF7 Remake part 1 and also this game is being another possible remake, it's possible that this portal materia is something we'll see more often later on. Or I'm just overly guessing the timeline theory along with the certain "hero" that I am hoping to return.

they are at the beach at the sametime during their past, present, and future. It is basically time jumping to the same day but in different years.

I must say I do find Crisis Core music unlistenable at times - this track being prime example.
