It's funny it did the same for me. I think there's no band I've taken more time to start loving. And it's not even that I stopped listening to them during a long time and came back to them later, I've been listening to them all my life, and just never thought they were so great. I've listened to them at the very least once a month for like 6 years, but it's only after 6 years that they became one of my favourite bands all of a sudden. The thing that made me realize I loved them so much was probably listening to their album "Devotion" as a whole, it had been a while I was only listening to a few of their songs here and there, but listening the entire Devotion album made me realize they were special to me. And it's funny because I thought Devotion was their worst album by far at the beginning, and it's genereally their least popular album I think, along with Depression Cherry maybe. But I really fell in love with that album and that band.

One time I had to drive to this crappy office (for my old IT job) at like 6 in the morning. I listened to this album. It was in Arkansas and the weather was nuts and it was super foggy. It was really surreal. This has always been my favorite song of theirs. There's nothing particularly profound or exiting about this comment, but I always remember that time, and for some reason it was special.

totally. i used to listen to this whole album every morning one summer. i had a much shittier job - hooking up new computers at schools and installing windows on them. did it with a friend so it wasn’t so bad, but man was that shit boring. got fired because i would blast lil b based freestyles from my phone speaker. in an empty school! was much younger and naive then. dumber. arrogant. definitely understood their music more when i started getting serious with women, falling in love, breaking up, etc etc
