The melody takes you captive, but the lyrics were meant to taunt the intended recipient and oddly reveal Isaiah 49. When the Messiah believes he's been tricked about a Beach House on a coast land shown to him in the Key of David (which he later destroyed), he loses his smile. This song haunts him, saying who's fault is it? Isn't it yours? Aren't you responsible for the black lines separating from the white to begin with? Only time will tell whether "dreams really do come true," unless of course we're all only dreaming in the first place and are all just Dying to wake up...

All those comments with "this makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never lived", except I have the pleasure of feeling nostalgic for that time I actually lived, and it's that moment right before dusk on a particularly cool August of 2007, where the sky is bleeding pink into the horizon like paint spilt on canvas.

Why? its kind of featureless. Like its just so typical wishy-washy Beach House thats been done before. A song like Drunk In LA for example has an amazing electric guitar solo all buried in the mix at the end of the already killer song. Its absolutely epic. The track right before it is great too and there are a handful of others just as brilliant (cant be bothered going to look at tracklist but ones after this song on the second half). This just sounds like Mazzy Star. Theyve done this sound to death.

Theres a few guitars in here both acoustic and electric - I thought of them as all very subtle just adding texture to the sound rather than being features in themselves. Like there are no guitar riffs or solos. Which guitar in the song made you write that comment?

@@NowhereMan7 for me definitely those distorted after 2:31 :-) the first half of the song is not bad, but from that moment it gets really good
@NowhereMan75 жыл бұрын
@@charliez077 Fair enough if you like it. Its just not that interesting to me like this song as a whole. I LOVE the album but this song is a snooze fest. Its so wishy-washy and samey. No musical motifs in it are interesting to me from guitar or any other instrument, thats why I find it interesting when people write comments like "That guitar though!". Even after you point it out and I listen to it again Im still surprised anyone would comment about it specifically. theres nothing wrong with it its just not that interesting. I dont think its stretch to say this could be the instrumental track on one of Norah Jones's albums that send people to sleep at the wheel like Come Away With Me (Into a coma). By contrast, if someone commented about the guitar solo at the end of Drunk in LA - how its so murky and scrambled and all buried in the mix and how epic and amazing it is, I would understand that as it is very comment worthy. But as far as guitar parts go I just dont get whats interesting about this one. Not an issue though - people always like and notice different things about songs. Lots of people love this song and to me its possibly the most boring song on that album. So I'm in the minority probably :)
