Got out on Memorial Day and did a little hunt at Long Beach, Ca. So much trash on the beach...we may need to return and do a clean up in the near future!

I agree.... as far as trash goes, I think it is neck and neck with Santa Monica. OMG I almost went off on some people for leaving trash everywhere.... Had to walk away!

Thanks.... I think we will do a beach cleanup at a beach before I go on my next trip at the end of the month. I was sad to see so much trash at Long Beach. I also went to Santa Monica Beach yesterday and was watching people walk away from piles of trash. So bad that I even picked up some trash as people were packing up just to out them!

Bill this is Bill, my buddies and I used to fish the Naples canals there all the time back in the 80’s, we caught so many bay bass and the occasional halibut. Matter of fact I caught a 42” halibut in a tiny canal between houses 🏘, it was a monster.

Very cool... When I was standing out there, I saw two large fish swim by and they startled me. I think they were rays and were almost 2 feet across.

You want a ray story do you? Over at the yacht club that faces the harbor where it opens up, we were doing some midnight Batray fishing and using 12’ foot rods. My line started taking off and when I set the hook it nearly dragged me into the water. About 30 minutes later I had to walk down to the dock so my buddy could take the hook out of a 150 lb bat ray... it was huge.

The shell with the ring in it was a Cowry or cowrie shell. Just throw some hooks on that lure and you are good to go. the weights inside are for noise and to make it suspend at certain depths.

We have almost everything we have ever found. All gold and silver items are kept just in case we ever locate the owner. Bling is in containers but we have given some items away upon request
