How many of you struggle with touching the net or not getting any blocks? Comment below , I'm trying to see something :)

And for small blockers? 6 feet or less? Should they penetrate the network? By the way, I love the new video format! PS: the small blocker doesn't jump like Taylor Crabb, they will be about 18-20 inches

One of your guys' best videos; hilarious and informative. As a "fisherman", I found the trick to gauge distance from the net when blocking super helpful; thanks very much! I'll focus on pressing on the court, and penetrating off the court 😂😉

Mistake 0: Mindlessly blocking. Blocks have to be earned. So judge the set and if it's to far off the net then drop.

Did the block used to not count as a touch in beach volleyball? My group has been playing that the block did not count toward 3 touches for over 10 years and we all thought that was correct. Did it change at some point?

If the ball comes to your side as a high ball close to the net and you try to spike it with the first touch to the opponent side, does that count as an attack or block? If you fail the spike and the ball hit's your side of the net, can you have a 2nd touch under the net?

I kinda dig mistake #3 - not penetrating. 😅😅😅yeah we do it all the time. These are great tips.

What is the ruling when the ball hits the net (tape) and then the tape makes contact with the blocker and the ball remains in ball?

You can't penetrate before the third touch of your opponent, right?

I think you can if the ball is meant to come to your side, otherwise not. For example if you get a bad touch of the ball and it goes to the opponent side and they try to spike it with the first touch then you can penetrate. But you can't touch the ball first or simultaneously.

I have trouble blocking because I tend to line up with my opponent's body, not their hitting shoulder (which I'm told you should do). Also, to go along with the 3 blocking tips, if you touch the ball on your block, technically you can touch it again before your partner as the second contact. Not sure if the term is "self cover" or something, but you can touch it twice in a row if your first contact was a legal block. But I'd let BABV confirm that :) Happy Blocking!
