I would say you are spot on with the theory about the bream and the fishing net, many moons ago i also worked on trawlers and have seen the same thing.

Hello Alex, Paul from the U.K. again here, just got back from Rockingham WA. Just to add to the gentleman above (I’m certainly not telling you anything that you didn’t already know 😂) (But May help others). I was fishing with prawn/sardines and squid, but just couldn’t keep the bait on the hook due to the amount of small fish. There were some lads fishing next to me and they advised using chicken thigh..... so next time I mashed up some sardines I had and mixed it up with the chicken for 😅 scent. IT WORKS....... stays on the hook longer, I caught more fish (about 7 species) So there you go, chicken worked.

Just to add, I would have loved to have fished with them beach worms but couldn’t get them in that area 🤔

Hi Alex. I just found your channel. Love the fact that there is no crazy background music, just the crash of waves and your calm commentary. When I go beach fishing in Vic, I am constantly dealing with kelp. Would float fishing work? I haven't tried that yet. Kind regards MP
@AlexBellissimo5 ай бұрын
Hi Michael It would be best to check the beach from a higher vantage point before you rig up. You will notice weed in the waves further out beforehand. That being the case go to a different section of the beach and do the same thing. If there is no weed then rig up and go fishing. Thanks for watching my KZbin much appreciated.

Great video. My wife and I are suffering injuries at the moment so we can't get to the beach (Wooyung) at the moment. Do me a favour and tighten up the spool of the Alvey so we don't hear knock, knock, knock as you wind in!!! No more advice, except maybe you could do a video with Roger Osborne some time. That would be epic. You and Roger, unlike many on the TV do not claim you are the world's best fishermen, although you probably are.

You gave this guy advice... Haha you goose

Did you see the exclamation marks at the end of that advice. I suppose exclamation marks would be beyond your grasp, Dick Furthermore you don't know who I am but I have won fishing comps for striped bass in Cape Cod Bay and also PEI.@@mmc2377ify

Do the frozen worms work? sometimes i dont have time and can't catch them myself. Cheers
@AlexBellissimo7 ай бұрын
yes frozen worms work well too and thats exactly right the majority of whiting anglers dont get the opportunity to cach worms then go fishing
@danielwutfisho8 ай бұрын
Sweet fish alex, whiting fishing can be fairly slow on the northern beaches
@AlexBellissimo7 ай бұрын
yes it can be slow but there ae times it goes gang busters. They get smart when getting smashed frequently.

at 8:35 you mention foam indicating how deep the water is.... Can you explain this a bit more? Obviously waves break in shallower water but what specifically is the foam indicating to inform you of the depth?

Can you tell me why are you using a dinosaur reel and is it mother kkelp
@AlexBellissimo3 ай бұрын
Alvey reels have many applications that anglers do not understand. If you are well versed at using this reel it is far better for very complex situations which I don't show on my videos. As far as it being a dinosaur reel that is just aesthetic looks. If your after a reel that looks smick and you think it's going to do what you want it to do think again
