I disagree with you on diversity of cultures though, the reason why Portugal is magic is because it’s Portuguese and full of Portuguese people. London is diverse, it’s an awful hell on earth.

Actually, the expat people I know here are doing wonderful things, such as helping animals, replanting native forests and helping bring back natural biodiversity, supporting arts and crafts etc. As far as I’m concerned, that’s the best kind of culture there is - where human beings express their creativity together in a positive way that gives back to other people, animals and nature, instead of focusing on exploitation for profit only.

@@OffTheBeatenTrack7That’s just good people doing good things, it doesn’t have to be diverse to do that, I think what I’m trying to say is diversity as a thing in itself isn’t necessarily a good thing, I don’t think insular monocultures are anything to strive for, but saying that, differences between places is what makes them interesting, I’d hate the Idea of Portugal becoming like global London and having no Portuguese identity at all.
