When I was a little girl, my mother embellished 2 Sunbonnet Sues with cross-stitch and braided yarn hair and lace, and put into a shadow box. I appreciated the work she put into it, and over the years that effort has stuck in my brain. Such a special quilt block.

I love your philosophy about quilt tops. I love putting tops together but don't always get them quilted in a "timely manor" . You are so right quilt tops are much easier to store than finished quilts! Thanks for helping me change my perspective🙂

An absolutely beautiful, vintage-looking quilt!!!! A real stunning piece, Beth! I like that it's not all Sunbonnet Sue quilt blocks, as so many of the quilts are. The combo of the scrappy blocks with the Sue blocks is the perfect combination. This would be quite a special gift for someone! A Sunbonnet Sue quilt is on my Quilt Bucket List to make (hopefully) one day. I'll be using your pattern!
