Majestic icon of the Columbia River Gorge. How would you like to hike the remnant of a core of an ancient volcano? Henry Biddle bought the monolith a century ago and carved the original trail. His heirs donated Beacon Rock to the state of Washington in 1935. Beacon Rock overlooks a gorgeous section of the Columbia River Gorge.
