I have been trying to bead around an oval jasper stone that is huge. After several attempts to bead a second round on top of the first, I am at a point of stopping altogether. Ugh!!! But after seeing this video, I have hope again. Thank you so much! Please remember us beginners who are hovering on the edge of discovering much more about this wonderful world of embroidery. Your tutorial encouraged me to keep learning.

2024 - here in the USA, we can buy stiff felt 8.5 x 11 inch sheets. It is rigid enough for beading. Some of us use leather.

I don't see it specified, but good old Nymo D would be my go-to for something like this. It's decently strong, but also nice and thin so the multiple passes through your base row won't be difficult.
