I love the idea of counted designs! I would also love to see figures, such as flowers, animals, and other recognizable items (organic, rather than geometric). Is it possible to create letters (initials) with kumihimo??
@Prumihimo3 жыл бұрын
I have got a flower and a tree ready to go. To make more detailed shapes you need to use more cords, which is something I will work on if these 8 cord videos are popular. Letters are difficult because of the level of detail required to make them readable.

Hi Pru, I wish I found your channel earlier, but it is not too late to learn a lot of new things! Quick question, did you try this particular technique using round seed beads and long magatamas combination? I have a "back of a dragon" kind of picture in my head to do, that's why I'm asking. Thank you for your hard work and knowledge sharing!

Heel mooi uitgelegd. Als ik zelf een patroon wil ontwerpen, is er een techniek om te weten waar je welke kleur op je schema moet zetten?

Thank you. This is something that I have been very interested in but do not understand how to make a pattern. I certainly will want to try some of yours out. Are you using size 8 beads? Most of mine are size 6 on a size #18 cord.
@Prumihimo3 жыл бұрын
The samples are made with size 8 beads, but the patterns will work just as well with size 6 beads.

Very nice. I’ll be trying it. I’d love to see how the other patterns are done also.

Do you also have a video in which you show the pattern with making a bracelet?
@alisonwarlow19113 жыл бұрын
Very informative. Can you advise how you work out how much 'thread' you need for the bracelet and you also mentioned a 'stop bead' in the video .. what is this? Thanks in advance Pru ;o)
@Prumihimo3 жыл бұрын
You need 3 times the required finished length for each cord. This video explains all about stop beads. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6ekmoaoad2fp6s

Tried doing the wide stripe however something has gone wrong - My stripe ended up twisting around the bracelet rather than been a solid line down the middle of my braid .. any suggestions .. thanks in advance Pru.
@Prumihimo3 жыл бұрын
It sounds as if your tension might be either too tight or your disk is a bit worn and the slots are not gripping the cords properly.

Unfortunately I do not speak Spanish, but kumihimo is very visual, so I hope that most of the video can be understood through actions rather than words. If there is anything specific you need me to explain please ask.
