Oh this was a much needed video as I've been ill and housebound. The new wall color really opens up the space and gives it depth and is a nice backdrop to all the colors, textures and patterns in the room. Patsy seems to realize that mum is speaking to a much larger audience than herself as she gazes towards the camera lens. She continues to settle nicely into her new life. The evolution of the woodland that you are assisting Mother Nature with is inspiring. Ash where the downed pine is, modification to the stream, new garden beds...... one is never bored in such an environment. Your garden center is very similar in scope to one that I like to frequent. It's much smaller but I can spend hours there. Never mind being eccentric. People say that about me too. The replacement of your stove interests me and I hope that is an adventure you will take us on. Blessings to the kindred spirits who dwell in or visit Bealtaine.

There use to be the most beautiful garden centre close to my home. They had beautiful healthy trees, shrubs, perennials and annual bedding plants, bulbs, onions sweet potatoes and garden related statuary and bits 'n pieces! I would go there on a rainy afternoon just to wander through the greenhouses! They even had clear umbrellas in a stand for those who wanted to wander through the grounds! It is a dozen years now since they closed and I still miss the place..... but also the lovely people who made it a treat to step through the door.

Oh, how sad! A year ago my favorite one closed as well too, after many years. But at least I have a consolation. I work in the outdoor garden center at Lowes---it's larger than most--and we have many beautiful plants. Trees, shrubs, annuals, perennials, etc. We are getting close to the time when deliveries are about to start for Spring planting. I'm excited!

Thanks Colette! I am entranced in a garden centre too- so good for the mental health like being in the forest & near water.! That was a lovely tour -- nice place to have a warm drink with a friend in the calm! It's ice and snow here for at least another month or so, but the buds are swelling if you look closely. The new roadside entry is going to look stunning!

Love the wander through your garden center! Your prices are much cheaper than ours and ours never carry bare roots (you have to order them from online places) because they charge more for potted trees...but you get them home and the trees have not had time to set any roots so you basically get bare root trees at potted prices!🤷♂️. But I think bare root trees thrive more so I get less piqued.

It's always sad to see..I have two garden centres local to my home both within a few miles travelling or on foot. Always a welcome and a nice sit down for a chat after the shopping is done. Also I look out for the rescue trolley often a few plants to take home and give extra care and attention to rejuvenate each one . So much work to be done, as usual. Just getting out and about after what seems a long time coming, the silvery light or the golden sunsets here are a blessing. Your home looks calm and peaceful and Patsy has settled in so well. Collette- I grew up in Michigan, US, and spent my summer days at the big lake every summer. My parents took me camping as well. Woods and water seem to be a necessity for me. The sounds of the water and wind through the trees are a necessity for me. I don't think I would survive in the city, I seem to crave nature. Ms Patsy does love to sit and survey her kingdom, doesn't she? Knowing her breed, she misses nothing does she!

Good morning Colette from snowy New Hampshire. We are a winter wonderland at the moment. I enjoyed your taking us along to the garden center. Green 🌱🌱 is my new favorite color :-). Yes your kitchen wood stove is looking tired. Any thoughts on the model or will it be a newer Stanley? Our Home Comfort is vintage 1930.That said, "Matilda" only had one previous owner, our Great Uncle Robert. She's a fine stove after restoration. I agree regarding our mental health and well being. Without it, I would be adrift. The birds at the feeder are cheering my spirit at the moment ~ Diane

Here in southern Maine (US), it will be winter until perhaps March. Although I did see some daylilies sprouting before this last snow, all is covered again. The light is with us longer and it is "silver," as you so aptly describe it. But the weather powers still dominate, and we do a dance with winter until spring is too close to be ignored. Meteorological spring begins here on March 1st, while astrological spring will debut on March 19th this year. So many people here think they have to wait until a certain time in May to start planting, but I've had a lot of success starting things in late February/early March and setting them outside in pots by April. Our climate is changing somewhat here, as I am seeing flowers persisting into December now. How nice it must be to live somewhere, as you do, where so much stays green all winter! Blessings.

Also I really loved the walk round the garden centre especially as I couldn’t actually buy anything 😂❤️

It's sad to see a tree blown over, but in another sense it's a fantastic milestone for the forest garden. The forest is mature enough to be starting to undergo natural windthrow, which is part of a woodlend's life cycle. I hope to live long enough to see my own planting in my woodland project do something similar. It's one of those life course waymarkers, like when the young trees get as tall as you are, or when you start noticing the canopy closing over your head. Anyway, more space for new planting!
