Silently, the children have seen them, In quiet places where the moss grows green. Coloured shells jangle together, The air is cold, the year is old, the trees whisper together, And bent in the wind they lean. This old song of the Incredible String Band came to my mind when I was watching your video today. I do love to drop in on you for a visit every day to see how you and Jack are, and of course, Bealtaine Cottage.

It's like walking through our own secret garden with Colette and Jack. The Trees, birds, flowers, folklore and history of Ireland. We are indeed blessed to have this as an almost daily meditation. I am happy you did not stay away long. That full moon was hard and powerful, but it always goes away in a day or two (thank goodness) May we all have more trees and flowers and visits with Colette and Jack. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us all!

Hi Colette, thank you so much for this video. It lifted my spirits when I saw it! I had been checking daily for a new video. I think a couple of videos back you said you'd like to find out how many trees had been planted as a direct result of Bealtaine Cottage. I was going to reply to that video but decided not to because I thought putting about 6 plants in a neglected communal car park flower bed wouldn't count, but I've decided to let you know now!! I live in a flat and said flower bed is all the land I have access to. I don't really know anything about gardening and avoided it really because it always seemed so complicated. You have taught me something totally different that had never occurred to me!!... I didn't realise that you could just plant stuff lol... So anyway I did with great success. I planted a blackcurrant tree, a St John's Wort, a little fern, a connifer, a cutting of lavender, a mint plant and a rosemary plant. I covered the weeds with newspaper and mulch and put the plants in amongst the weeds. Much to my absolute amazement the plants haven't died and it's all looking good, and the neighbours love it! All in the name of Bealtaine Cottage. Thank you Colette Xx

Monoculture has been the death of our soil here in America. Our agricultural methods have been based on quantity and speed of growth, with monoculture prevailing along with fertilizers and pesticides. It has debilitated the fertility of the soil. You would have thought the Great Dust Bowl would have opened our eyes and taught us the value, and the miracle, of what we have right beneath our feet!

Christina P. Amen, as a 74 year American I watched the orange and lemon groves plowed under to build tract houses in Orange County California in the 50’s. Now this same decimation is happening in Greenville County?, SC. We are losing on average five acres of trees a day to development?. Now there is flooding and no can figure this out DAH! Greed drives all this and those who do not pay attention to history are doomed to repeat it. Plant, plant, plant is my solution. Leather leaf Mahonia is considered an invasive species here. I love it and allow the volunteers to flourish on my landscape. Even the Robins here feed on the purple fruits. Colette is such an inspiration to me to respond to all this destruction of Mother Earth with a positive attitude. ❤️ to you Colette and your faithful companion Jack.

Here in Nova Scotia, multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora, native to eastern Asia) is considered an invasive species. It has become an important source of food and shelter for birds and other wildlife here, especially in the winter.

Dear Colette , nice that you are back , hopefully you have recovered a bit . The drain of the pond is well done . Through the stages , the water 💦 is enriched with oxygen and that is wonderful . Clean living water is rare . At the moment we can not get beyond 7 degrees Celsius . Sometimes it freezes at night ❄️. The squirrels 🐿 are hiding in accord at the moment .A few cups of tea 🍵🍵🍵 and a nice hot stove 🔥🔥🔥 are now in fashion . Best regards and many hugs 🤗 to you and Mr. Jack and your loved ones from Conny Braun and cat 🐈 Felix from Germany .🌍🤗🙏🏼🌲🍂🔥🍵📚🕯🐶💦🙏🏼❤️🌎

Aah the sound of the stream,it's just an enchanting Winter scene altogether. Will it still be there in Summer? I marvel at how you've grown trees from seed Colette,I found some 'helicopter' seeds, which I looked up,they're from a Maple, but they'd already turned brown. Still I looked at how you can help them germinate🌱🌱 and it looked complicated, they seem to be very fragile and might not thrive. But sure,Mother Nature knows what she's doing and you're there to give her a helping hand. I can't fit any more trees in my garden, but I'd try one in a pot for now(till I get a bigger garden-then I'll surround the place with gorgeous greenery)😁💗💗💗🌳🌳🌳🌟🌟🌟

So lovely to see “green”. SW Michigan has seen some very cold and snowy weather just a little early this winter season. Watching this after a cold walk home from work. Everything is covered in snow and ice but all the leaves haven’t fallen off the trees. A very interesting time watching the seasons as they change and cause all animals (including us) trying to adapt. Variety is the key to good health for all types of animals
