We are taking 30 acres of degraded farm land and are working "with her" to make it an Eden. Its certainly been a struggle with the very cold very dry spring we are having but every moment is a joy to us.

I love how you paid attention to all the microclimates and different elevation and most importantly to the watershed.. You took the time to read the landscape and work with the forces of exposure water elevation, a mark of a master designer...most are too impatient to listen to the land and try to impose their vision before making an agreement with the land. I hiked in a state park today just fifteen minutes from my home in ‘Maryland USA. I can remember visiting the same park in my childhood in the 1970s. It is gorgeous woodlands beside a series of rushing waterfalls through the bedrock river bed. I can remember going there forty years ago and droves of sunbathers were spread out all over the rocks with their boom boxes, scattering their litter and trampling the ecosystem, (they also occasionally fell into the falls and died). Today I was pleased to see that humans were prohibited from walking on the bedrock island, and instead were directed over a suspended bridge, with a sign that explained it was a fragile ecosystem to be preserved. The rocks were covered in lichen, not sunbathers. We saw lizards scampering under fallen decaying trees, and there was a tree trunk precariously gnawed to a pencil point, surely evidence of a beaver’s work. Then, of course, thousands of species of plants and bugs abounded, un-endangered by hiking boots. Hawks, geese and cranes flew overhead, and a vulture perched on a cliff across the river surveying the rocky shore. I definitely see a difference in environmental awareness in the course of my lifetime and I’m hoping it continues in the right direction. 🌱🌱🌱🌿🌿🌿🦫

What an absolute paradise! It's amazing how the land can transform when we take care of her and support her. I love the concept/feeling/attitude of living "with Her," and I recommend the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, as she also expresses this idea. In her culture the viewpoint is rather than living "on Earth," we are living "with Earth." It's a beautiful spirituality very much in tune with yours.

Colette, it is a joy to see your replenished land, and oh the singing of joyus birds! Your trees are a treasure, your love of your land and respect for the earth has created a nook of paradise on earth. Bless you dear lady for sharing and teaching others to listen to the land

Here in the states people use it and could care less, blows my mind they don't think about what it's doing to themselves, let alone Mother Earth.!!
