Note that Longitudinal bars carries moment mainly and stirrups carries shear force and torsional moment. And lapping should be avoided on tension zone it includes at the support above neutral axis.

Nice tutorial..keep it up...but in stair up design why not use only shear force . What about tortion force...say some thing about how calculte both of them and also say some thing how can interpret center of spaceing less than 10 cm..thank about all bro

A simply supported beam in Figure 1 spans 8m on 350mm wide supports. It is required to support a uniformly distributed ultimate design load of P-200kN/m. The characteristic material strengths are fek 25MPa for concrete and fy=500MPa for steel. The beam has cross section of gross depth, h-700mm and width, b=350mm. a) Calculate the design shear force at critical sections b) Check the crushing strength VRdmax of concrete at the tace of the support. c) Deternmine the angle of the diagonal crack, d) Calculate o10 stirrups spacing X and the minimum shear reinforcement required.350 10 stirrups at spacing X Please done it
