I buried a time capsule when I was a kid back in 85 on my dad's land. I wasn't supposed to dig it up until 2000 it has a couple of rare matchbox cars a Jose Canseco rookie card and some other things I don't remember. I tried to find it in 2000 but couldn't. every now and then I get a wild hair and go out with the shovel and try to dig it up.

if you buried it in a metal container even a cheap metal detector should find it if you didn't bury it too deep. If it's in a metal box set the detector for "all metals mode" and it should give off a huge signal. Hopefully you have a rough idea of where you buried it to narrow down the search.

From now on people should put pictures of them using the items in the capsules. That way the future doesn't need to guess, learn an "ancient" language (possibly), or even be from the same country or planet to know what to do with the items. I mean seriously. It's so easy now and it could help prevent so much misunderstanding.

This is one of the most awesome videos I've ever watched. I think time capsules are ingenious. I worry about the capsule that will be opened in 5,000 years though. There is speculation that we will have fewer languages then and one of them might not be English. I was impressed by the capsule that foresaw we would not know how to operate their outdated machine and so they included instructions. How thoughtful!! As for what would I put in a time capsule that was not going to be opened for 1000 years or more.. a sewing machine, a wedding dress, man's suit, a catalog of modern cars (especially for a 5,000 year capsule), energy efficient light bulb, tools from a dentist office.. (I know you said three, but the list keeps growing! I can't help it. The thing about including things that use electricity like a sewing machine or a radio is that the whole electrical system might look different then. I guess that's what it's all about. 😘

He was tearing down a farm house that had burned and in the foundation of field stone they found the capsule dated May 18, 1805. Since the ancestors were living in the house that burned he turned over to them. He never did find out what was in it but as it's been told he was happy the family got it.

July 2018. I'm 70 now. When I was in high school I was told by friends a method of making Peach Brandy by stuffing whole peaches into a mason jar and sealing the lid. I was told that because of the expansion of the product inside the jar would break unless pack tightly in the ground and left for 30 days. I packed a number of these jars and after 30 days went back to dig them up in my backyard. I found all but one which must still be there. That brandy must be pretty potent by now.

I'd put a bottle of sweet chili sauce (because I eat egg rolls all the time), an op-ed I've written, and a physical copy of my favorite game (probably the original Mercenaries). I'm a writer, a gamer, and I love egg rolls so I think that'd be good to put in a capsule.

Well, the 1983 Capsule was a giant PVC pipe, and it was well preserved. Granted, it was only 30 years hence, but even metal boxes tend to rust in that time, that capsule was undamaged, and the contents were well preserved.

I can't wait to see the Blue Peter Time Capsule be open in the future! Also, for futures to come, It's coming home, England to win the World Cup in 2018! That last parts mostly for me to see in the future and dread to see the future outcome, haha!

When I was in third grade my class buried a time capsule at our school, and marked it with a round flat stone. But since then, my old school was demolished and completely leveled and is now a huge empty lot.

My middle school did a time capsule. We all wrote notes to our future selves. I believe it’s been 10 years. We’re suppose to open it in 5 years from now.
@adamlemus75856 жыл бұрын
Found once a Time capsule by a mechanic from 1932 in the concrete slab of a garage we were cutting out to install a new lift. It had a old single barrel carburetor an a note that said. "I hope things get better then this signed Jacob Grey" or something to that effect. We think by the fact the adjustment screws were stripped he had some issues dealing with the carburetor. So we took a few parts from a mechanical fuel ejection system from a 89 Mercedes Benz an added our own note that read "Nope, sorry about that, 2003" put it all back in the box an buried it under the slab next to the left but wrote in the concrete time capsule here. Well close to anyway cause I misspelled capsule
