I read a book called “The Giver” and it was pretty much about a civilization where no one is allowed to have feelings, talk too fast, wear different hair styles, fall in love, etc. If that did happen, you would either be whipped with a stick or killed, in front of the Chief Elder (aka the president). Ever since the time you start school till you turn 12, your whole life would be monitored so that the government can pick your job. There are even speakers placed around the city that can both record and give out messages like “this is a reminder that all female tens must have their hair up until after curfew”. I am honestly starting to compare these North Korean laws to the book

For a bit of understanding on why these laws seem so absurd, part of the reason is that absurdity. It is a nation which requires constant suffering in order to exist. If the needs of a person aren't met and they have to struggle to survive, there isn't enough time or resources to successfully push back against the government. It also is worth noting that one of the main sources of labor in the nation is prison labor. The reason so many people are arrested for absurd things is that North Korea needs to arrest people in order to keep its economy even the slightest bit intact.
@JennianaCross8 ай бұрын
Yet somehow, the United States has more prisoners (both quantity AND percentage) than North Korea. If they're so "evil" for exploiting a source of free labor, why does America get a pass?

On average, womens drive ~30% less compared to men. This videos statistics says that womens cause ~70% less fatal accidents compared to men. So still, mens are causing more deaths on traffic. I done quick maths, and while counting everything in, womens still cause 54% less fatal accidents compared to men, it is still massively more. And this is only stats from USA. Your welcome. Also, NK said that "women are genetically incapable of handling traffic", that statistic shown on the video, is just enough to prove that argument wrong, because we all know without any stats, that womens do not drive atleast 70% less compared to men.
@123Suffering4565 күн бұрын
True, though it's nothing new regardless of these specific numbers that men tend to drive more recklessly than women, or women drive more carefully and tend to take less risk if you want to turn the statement around. Just the way it is statistically.

@@cameronhoman2742 some tourism is allowed because it brings in hard cash for the government (usually US dollars). The global sanctions on trading (including tourism) prevents much cash ending up in the hands of "the people" i.e. government and Kim himself. Something has to pay for those high-end brands after all! They get most of their money from Russia and China, but that comes either from the "wages" of workers sent abroad to friendly/neutral countries. Eg there's a government run chain of NK restaurants where the waitresses are sent without consent to serve and later on, entertain with a little band of traditional NK instruments and players. So, there's a rather convoluted answer for you. HTH 😊

I agree. their nuclear program would be our biggest problem, though. without that, a liberation of North Korea might be as quick as Desert Storm. their Air Force stands no chance against any nearby nation, and they can barely feed their army as it is. heck, a couple of routs and supply drops to starving people, and you may have their armies willingly surrender to you. but I guess we'll never know unless we try, huh?
