They might just feel alone and want some attention. But injecting themselves with dangerous chemicals/liquids. Still, if people do this just for attention, it would go just too far. Edit: Plus, it doesn't have to be muscles, they could do anything easier AND safer yet injecting themselves with synthol, there's no point. Idiots.

One thing to note about weights: just because a weight is the size of a 45lb plate does not mean it is 45lbs. There are some 10lb and even 15-25lb plates that look like a 45lb plate. Those weights may be fake, but they also might not be and just be something less than 45lb plates.

With the guy who gained muscle mass and lifted less. When I was in high school, I was max squatting 560lbs. 5 foot 8 and 170 lbs. I didn't look nearly that strong. There were only two guys that out squatted me and they were both over 250 lbs. My max bench wasn't super impressive, but it was 275 lbs. Which was still above average for most guys I was competing against. Muscle mass isn't what people think. On my wrestling team, I had the fastest time for 1, 3 and 6 mile runs (I'd drop down to 132 weigh class during wrestling season). On my football team, I would come in second or third for gassers. Ranking in the top three for legs on my football team for lifting weight and top 10 for arms. I didn't look it. You can work out for results or you can work out for looks. Most work out for looks, but that doesn't equate actual strength and endurance.

Nothing wrong with working hard in healthy ways to change your body whether you're trying to gain muscle or lose fat. It's when you sacrifice health to achieve your results that it becomes a problem. There can be just as many health consequences with the "beautiful at any size" BS as there can be with using harmful substances to lose fat or gain muscle. Being healthy is what should be pushed. Being obese can be just as bad for you as using steroids to gain muscle or stimulants to lose weight

While I do absolutely consider this to be just like getting liposuction (results with no effort) this goes far deeper into mental health issues. Body dysmorphia seems to be one for sure. :( also, these crazy drugs they're injecting are addictive so then there's substance abuse on top of it. It makes me sad to see this the same way it makes me sad to see someone who's anorexic or bulimic or just obsessed with superficiality. And I know that has a negative connotation to it but that's exactly what it is. Instead of working from the inside out they're doing it backwards. Changing your outsides (in the instant gratification type of way) is not going to help with what's going on inside. I've had my struggles with substance abuse and I know the obsessive addictive factor all too well, it's hard to stop even when it's dangerous. I at least hope they find a way out.

When I was in high school, I could do 13 45 pound plates on the leg press. My coach couldn't believe it. I made it look easy and asked for more weight. He said no frickin way, I cant believe you can do this. At the time I weighed 170 pounds.

I believe you, bro, when I was 12 I was unbelievable good at basketball, I was able to calculate the distance to the basket from any distance and the force needed to throw the ball, so I never missed the shot. I never took that as a important fact, only a game. I stopped playing when we moved one year later. Now I'm 30 and no one would believe I was that good, I'm not sure how I did it because I barely remember that time but well... maybe some day I'll play like that again and they'll see (haven't had a basket nor a basket ball since then)...or maybe it's gonna remain as a memory and reminder for me of what I'm able to achieve :')

The fakes are even more hilarious than the real bodybuilder champions that went too far through the likes of steroids, especially the one with the huge balloons on his chest.😂
