I would’ve gotten off the plane after documenting the flight attendant, then sued the airline for animal cruelty before she had a chance to murder my fur baby. That’s disgusting. I hope she was fired and the airline sued 🤬
@lethfuil2 жыл бұрын
Why automatically sue the airline? O.o (I guess you're american?) She should have immediately left the plane, yes, and talk to someone in charge, yes, not comply to stuff her "furr baby" into that space. Get the flight attendant into trouble, book a later flight if you have to, get back your money. You can still sue someone if it's made clear that it's company policy. Buuut I doubt it is.

The rule was to stow the bag in the overhead compartment or under the seat. There was nothing about stowing the dog. Take the dog out of the bag, stuff the bag under the seat, and hold on to the dog. Then once the plane is settled, you put the dog back in the bag. What I don't get is that the dog's owner was going to have to hold the dog regardless of the flight.

The traffic island was placed right in front of the entrance to a petrol station, making it almost impossible to drive in from the opposite side of the road. Furthermore, no one ever crosses where they placed the traffic island. I've lived near there for 14 years and never seen anyone cross there. The traffic island also removed the parking spaces in front of several house on that part of the road. The traffic island has been a pain in the neck for everyone, and it doesn't even fulfill its intended purpose.

When something is done to someone’s ‘chagrin’, it is done to embarrass or humiliate someone because they failed at something they attempted. Used in a real world scenario: Chester A. Arthur, much to the ‘chagrin’ of Roscoe Conklin and the Republican ‘Stalwarts’, became a staunch member of the Civil Service Reform movement, despite being removed from being Chief Collector of the Port of New York because he was a ‘Stalwart’.

I’ve got one I read in a Dilbert comic: In it Dogbert is talking about the different kinds of stupid people for a kind of TV show (it was a long time ago), and one kind of “stupid people” he mentions are “people who don’t understand finance, but talk about it anyway.” He then uses this example: Businessman A: “So I hear that the feds increased the money supply, but I checked my account and it’s still the same as before.” Businessman B: “That’s not fair.”

It’s my understanding that Duct-tape was at first called Duck-tape. The cloth mesh used in its production was called Duck cloth. This was during WW2. Once the soldiers returned home it was used to affix sheet metal ducts and gained the name change.

According to Google and other dictionaries Literally: INFORMAL used for emphasis or to express strong feeling while not being literally true. "I was literally blown away by the response I got" Much like how we added "Ain't" to the dictionary, what words mean isn't set in stone. Language is fluid, ever shifting, and definitions are based on how people use a word, not just the other way around. The definitions of many words has shifted over many centuries since English has been around, and our dictionaries change to reflect this. Also, what's wrong with Duck-Tape? It's my favorite brand of Duct Tape...

All the story's about people who are just plain ignorant are disgusting, and I don't mean this in a "I hate this channel" sort of way, its more constructive criticism. I just felt like calling people who misused words or said words wrong stupid, is just a bit much. As somebody with autism (Asperger's,) I get things wrong every day and struggle with social skills, and to me I have heard all this before, being called stupid is not new to me. But to other people who may have a more serious case or just anybody who struggles with this. Just in the off chance whoever runs Be Amazed sees this, I just feel like stupid in some cases, is too strong.

My opinion of stupid is drunk people in general. No good ideas ever happen during states of total inebriation. Have you seen the car wreck videos?? It’s madness. I really don’t think we can retire the word. It’s just perhaps telling of the narrator’s character. Let people have the freedom to show you who they really are. Grow thicker skin to protect freedom of speech. At the end of the day you’ll never meet this person and you don’t have to watch any more of the videos. Or you can accept their character flaws, and know that it’s them and not you and keep watching other videos because you suddenly got thicker skin. 🤷♀️ There’s no wrong choice. You’re only inferior if you consent to be inferior. “Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent.” - Eleanor Roosevelt
