In this video I review a Bear Archery Factory 2nd Cheyenne Recurve bow that sells for $325.00 over $225.00 off the retail price of the bow.
This Cheyenne Recurve also turned out to be the fastest Bear Bow I have tested to date.
Bow Specs
55 inch AMO
45lb@28in
Give Jared a call at the Bear Factory Pro Shop in Gainesville, Florida if you would like to get your own Factory 2nd bow. Jared phone number is 352 376-2411
Thanks for watching!!!

Interesting.. I'm lucky enough to have a new 50# Cheyenne.... beautiful bow, there's a bit of noise from string but not much and it has no hand shock.. I've tied on nocking points..not brass ones.also have a super Kodiak,no hand shock,and a 40# super grizzly which had a little bit of hand shock till I put some leather between the string and limbs.. so this was great to listen to.

@@CampfireKodiak well that's like choosing between my children. They're all beautiful,and when I'm with any one that seems like a favourite.The super Kodiak is excellent, accurate,fast smooth draw.If l could only have one bow that might be my choice????? Also with narrower limbs they will be less likely to twist. I want to get a 55# bow next.. maybe an ausable long bow? If I see a super Kodiak for sale though........ regards.

Some of that hand shock and string/limb noise can be fixed with a higher brace height, I know you like them lower but I find a lot of Bears perform better at 8-even 8 3/8 on some

I use a bow a 54 inch bow. The Bow is from OEELINE Ariowbow the one piece 54 inch bow at 45 pounds I draw to 35 pounds due to my 24 inch draw, that is like a Bear Grizzly/more Super Grizzly but scaled down. The Chinese company OEELINE Airobow does not really have model names (except the Black Hunter models) but the bow but they do have models by one piece or single recurve then go by height as they have a right hand only 58 inch model that is nearly a Bear Grizzly and a takedown recurve that is either 58 or 60 inches. To make bow a little quieter I used the side triangles I had for 2 piece side rest set I bought but only used the lower part and used them on the limbs where the string first makes contact with the bow to make it a bit quieter as the loud part was the string hitting the limb again during the shot. I have not tested with a chronograph, but I would bet that bow I have would if drawn to 28--29 inches gets the same numbers as you do since I got a better string for the bow, a full Fast flight in Flemish Twist. The Bow I have would basically be a faster flight Bear Super Grizzly if the rule is true that limbs are faster if you go shorter and keep the same design.

Another great review thanks Tod.. it would seem the super grizzly is the better shooter? Also tod I have a 3 month old super grizzly and it has alot of white crazing showing through the black glass on both limbs from the fading down to the center of the limbs. The crazing goes across the limbs and down them it's the 4th bear bow to do this in 2 years do i have anything to worry about?

No that seems to happen to a few Bear bows. I have shot many bows and tested many Bear Bows with the same grazing and they perform perfectly. As long as there are no splits or splinters the bow should be fine.

There was an older model then the one made in late 2000's that was called the Chyane from the Michigan shop, but the bow was more a standard recurve bow ends like a Bear Grizzly with a nearly the same shaped riser section. The modern Chyane is a nearly super recurve but not quite a super recurve bow that would be faster then a Bow of similar size that is a more standard recurve. The old Chyane came from a static tip model in the 1950's that the name got resurrected in the late 1960's or early 1970's as a higher end recurve that could only take a Dynaflight D-77 at most when that came out a few years later, due to the tip ends how the limbs are not as big as they need to be for Dynaflight D-97/Fast Flight. I do think that smaller then 55--54 inches and the recurve bows tend to wiggle around more then what people want, sure there can be smaller flat bows/shortbows in this size that if the limbs are made only a little wider then what they should be as if scaling down a longbow in either the flat limb or English/Welsh style would work fine. Maybe if you have a Static tip design like a Mongolian/Asian Russia bow, Chinese, or a Middle eastern bow or even an older modern design you can get smaller.

@@caseysmith544 Great comment. I have a Super Magnum. It is very stable but, not blistering fast because of the giant brace height. I have a Tiny Turkish bow that is only 33" strung. It is 50 at 26" and will really sling an arrow but, it is very unstable. I hunted with it last fall and filled my tags with it. I think I will shoot something a little longer this season. Maybe 44 or 46😂
@caseysmith544
@caseysmith544 2 жыл бұрын
@@UncleDanBand64 Yep My bow is a tick unstable compared to an actual Bear Super Grizzly but not by much mainly due to the smaller handle as it is nearly an identical scale down of the Bear Super Grizzly, the sad part is the slightly lower brace height did not help with my draw. I am looking at the Youth Model and Youth Longbow from the GREAT PLAINS TRADITIONAL BOW COMPANY now out of Kansas since the new owners took over in 2010's. I am thinking the longbow as the handle grip on the Youth Model Recurve looks off. If not, I might just get a 50 or 55 pound version of the bow I currently have to pull 40--45 pounds. I am Still thinking this over.

@@allthingsarcheryandshootin9380 I have a feeling the bow I am thinking of is what became the Bear Chyane and is not called that explicitly but sellers on E-bay might call it original name "Chyane" as it is nearly the same bow.
