Not that I’ll ever be in a position to encounter a bear, but I JUST discovered these bear bangers on another video. Not to mention the comic relief from their names, it’s AWESOME to see this video to know it actually works! With as many snake-oil products in the world, nice to know there is a product that could actually save a life. And the comments are hilarious! Thanks for this video….it made my weekend!

When I was a kid my dad got tired of our dogs caught dumping our steel trashcan for whatever smells good inside. So he got I believe a horse corral wire fence machine and the 12 V car battery and waited for them to have fun with the trash. Needless to say most of them got zapped including the dog that Peed on the trashcan. Needless to say they left The trash alone ever after.

SERIOUSLY, people ... what is with the comments about guns and shooting the bear ?? ... Bears bangers and bears sprays are MEANT to deter / frighten the bear or bears away, NOT to kill them !!! Okay, I support the comments that Miguel should have shot it upwards instead of his neighbor's backyard ... ABSOLUTELY !!! ... As a recreational day hiker to some of the most amazing hiking back-country trails here on the West Coast of BC ( Vancouver + Vancouver Island + Squamish / Whistler ), obviously my girlfriend & I carry a bear bell, a bear spray, and the Tru Flare bear banger / flares kit ... hope we never have to use it ... but if I do, it is to DETER / FRIGHTEN the bear or bears away from me and my girlfriend, NOT to kill them ! ... We live in bear country ... let's learn to live with them !!!

not neccesary. black bears are usually really timid. in most cases you could chase a black bear away as quickly as you could chase a deer away

I really feel sorry for the bear..... it's learned to associate humans with food (garbage). Looks like people need to be more proactive in the neighborhood and find ways make sure the bear cannot get garbage/food from people's homes. The bear bangers are a good step, but physical denial of food sources might also help. Sadly bears like this one usually end up getting euthanized because they have had too much contact with people and people food.

I'd much rather the bear get the shit scared out of it and learn to stay away then get way too comfortable with people and end up having to get killed after it mauls a child of dog. Everyone says black bears are harmless but in the last 5 years, 2 people in my town have had close encounters. One lady got chased down while walking in the park, the other guy actually got attacked and his dog ended up saving the man's life while unfortunately losing his. Come to find out, the neighbors around both of these events had been feeding the bears because they "seemed so friendly"
