You're absolutely right! It's important to remember that when we enter the bear's territory, we're just guests and we should respect their home and enjoy it responsibly. Unfortunately this isn't bears habitat anymore since the town of Seward was stablished here long time ago. When bears come to town it becomes a dangerous problem for both the bears and the local population. In cases like this one the locals have no choice but to scare the bears away and to report the incident to the pertinent authorities.

Unfortunately, every town in Alaska was built on the native animals habitat, sadly for bears when they come to town they have to be scared away other wise they will become a hazard for the local population. But rest assure that bears have so much land to roam free and plenty food to fatten up. Alaska is huge and only a tiny portion os populated by humans.

Most bears stay away from towns and cities since Alaska is huge and wild life has plenty of space to be free and feed in the wilderness, but some bears like the one in the video are a little more adventurous and they like to come find food in town. Bears could be very dangerous to humans, so locals have no choice but to scare them away.
