The comment was for the Ruger 22 mag. I bought the Ruger from a gun store and had a problem with Hornady,cci and others. I took it to Clark’s Custom Guns and they knew the problem right away. They took it to the range with Winchester ammunition and it ran perfectly. The also told me to look up the owners manual on line , and it specifically said to use Winchester ammunition.

Thank you for the Honest breakdown of this firearm. I was watching The Turkeys Opinion and he had nothing but issues with this rifle. Blaimed it on Quality Control at BCA. I have many BCA rifle uppers for my ARs and only had to send one back for repair out of the box. Customer service is Awesome at BCA. I got a response the same day I sent the Email, and return shipping was paid for. Got a New upper .22 LR that works great and shoots reliably. I just subscribed to your channel.

Bro been down that road about 15 years ago. I was looking at all the options for 22 mag auto's and was torn between a22 mag and cz . Settled on a22 mag because i could get 25 round mags for it. My neighbor wanted a cz because she liked wood and steel.my savage out shot the cz everytime and the only time said neighbor ever outshot me was with savage. Yes it was a little humiliating. B blessed bro.

It's a 10/22 so check the chamber,recoil spring assembly and install a sharp claw extractor. For the price I have no problem troubleshooting and fixing it right out of the box. I'm about to buy another one and two 10/22's in 22lr. It's a major bargain!
@robertsbushcraft

@celmer6 my issues of light primer strikes and failure to extract were resolved when I tightened the v-block. I can tell ZERO difference between a Volquartsen extractor and the one that came with this BC-202. I o e this one.
@celmer6
@celmer6 Ай бұрын
@robertsbushcraft well the V-Block is critical for headspace and repeatable accuracy. At $500 it's the cheapest way to get into a 10/22 Magnum Match rifle. You are going to have to mess with it at this price point. And $345 for the 22lr version is cheaper than a Barrel,Bolt, Trigger unit and stock. Tuning the 10/22 is super simple and one of the reasons why it's one of the best 22lr rifles of all time.

For 20+yrs I had a Remington M597 .22mag. It came in a plastic stock. For $20 I got a Boyd’s Gray laminate stock and recoil pad. I free floated the barrel and epoxy bedded the reciever and 2” of the barrel. I also stoned the hammer to reduce the sear engagement to a 2.75lb crisp trigger pull. It shot 7/8” groups with jacketed 40gr bullets and 1-1.5” with the plated bullets (CCI). I eventually sold it to my best friend for his grand kids to hunt pigs on a State Management Area . I had two Remington plastic magazines both functioned perfectly. My current.22mag is a Marlin M783 bolt action that is flawless and equally accurate.

I owned a 10-22 LR and never had issue with the Ruger mags but did have to file the lips on after market Promag 50 rd mags because the bolt would drag across the lips, it seemed the mag set higher in the well or at least the lips were set higher in the mag either way once lightly filed they worked fine. I later learned it was a common problem with the Promag mags for the 10-22. Weather the company resolved the issue or not is unknown to me.

I ran thousands of rounds through my S&W model 41 .22 LR without a single jam of any kind. Also same goes for Browning take-down from the 60's .22lr never jammed in the 10+ years I owned it. We bought the cheapest ammo we could find. Those days are long gone. Not sure if today's ammo is crap or the guns. I owned a Mag Research 10/22 style 22 mag. I rarely got through a magazine without a jam. Upping the spring tension on the Ruger mag helps. Semi-auto trigger pull is usually horrendous with any current production gun.

Been wanting to see this particular gun and manufactor to buy for my son, however I heard absolutely nothing good regarding Bear Creek and this particular firearm. So much so, that several gun dealers around me absolutely refused to sell them due to such poor quality and it's unreliability. Curious about your opinion how it shoots, there is absolutely no way it's even remotely as accurate as my Ruger which can easily hit a quarter at a hundred yards with every load tried.

@jeremystyron9721 to be fair, it is a factory Ruger mag. The issues I had were resolved by tightening the v-block screws. She's a fine running machine for me now. We'll be showing this one more in the days ahead!

How hard is it to produce a reliable, tube fed bolt action rimfire that works for less than $200?! From youth until today I have never encountered a 100% reliable semi-auto rimfire. But I have encountered plenty of bolt and slide action Marlin, Mossberg, Remington tube fed reliable rimfires. A 15 round .22 Magnum bolt action with a medium barrel and an adult stock with spacers rocks.

The barrels too short for that Magnum it's not burning all the powder needs a 20 to 22-in barrel in my opinion I saw a lot of Magnums and that's what I've always shot

It definitely needs a 18 or 20-in barrel at the least that Magnum has a lot of powder to burn up in the 16 in actually I'd like to 22-in barrel then I think it would really be accurate

The Ruger 10-22 magnum had a big flaw: The bolt was made out of Tungsten steel which is hard and heavy, but brittle, and their bolt face would chip off and break......... A shame that Ruger had a good gun only if Ruger would have tried to make improvements and correct the problems.
@robertsbushcraft
@robertsbushcraft Ай бұрын
The one that I had didn't have chips/breaks, at least not that I could see. No matter what I tried to shoot through it, she just wasn't reliable at all. If it weren't for the barrel being loose (QC from factory and me missing it), I'm guessing this one would functioned near perfect.

@robertsbushcraft mine feeds perfectly after giving the magazine spring one addition turn. My extractor cut is too far from the boltface. Aftermarket extractors VQ, KIDD, and Ruger are too short to reach the cartridge rim. Rifle is accurate but lots of stovepipes and fail to extract and eject.

Southpaw here as well and have zero problems shooting right hand guns, to be perfectly honest I bought 2 left hand Benelli M2 in 20 and 12 gauge and have been terribly disappointed in both with the 12ga going back to Benelli 2 or three times., I sent it in with a 28" barrel and it came back with a 26" barrel and it is terribly inaccurate shooting center of pattern like a foot low and a foot from center. I just want to get rid of both, they are horrible guns IMO...
