Cheetahs aren't as dangerous as the other big cats, I mean yes they still have teeth & claws, sure they could rip you to shreds, the threat is still there, but they could come right up to you, just sniff you & your stuff then leave you (can happen, won't always) - unlike a tiger in which case you've got no shot - they're very curious & cautious, usually running away from anything they think could even be a possibility of a threat, like think of the most skittish cat you've known. Also, yes they were technically in Africa, & they were around would animals, many of which are dangerous, but the way she said it, yours assume she meant the stereotype of the savannah

This whole show is set up and essentially fake. I am currently staying right by where this was filmed, and have chatted to some local people who were asked to contribute in different ways to the show. There are no cheetahs here - they were tame and brought in for the show. The elephant dung water was prepared, and fake. There are no elephants or giraffes occurring naturally anywhere close to here. Apparently even the bugs that were eaten, were brought in by the crew, and not from around here. It is a beautiful wilderness area here, but completely misrepresented and the wildlife faked for the show. Also very disappointing and disheartening that in this protected area, and just for the show, Bear has no problem discussing killing wildlife (the snake) to eat it. Areas like this, and the wildlife that lives here are in desperate need of conservation, not exploitation by celebrities to fill their own bank accounts. I have been in other areas where Bear Grylls shows have been filmed, and heard the same story. His shows are phony, he has no respect for nature.
