Congrats Meg and Bear! My mare did the exact same thing as Bear. She had us in a mad rush to get her in foal, didn't take the first time, then decided to cooperate and went in foal the second time. After a very long wait, she ended up giving me exactly what I wanted - a stunning bay filly with a bit of bling. Fingers crossed Bear gives you what you're hoping for too.

Meg, as part of Bear's light work to help her lose weight, you can still do some pole work with her as you lightly work the Dressage and hacking until month 8. @@NoThankUBeQuiet True. Especially how Bear reacts just GOING INTO where Meg does the poles and jumping. LOL Especially if this "canter" is anything to go on. But I still think, my opinion only here @KMichelle Argus, that Bear would really benefit from the hacks, but also good Dressage training as well. Like, making her come around the leg more, side passing, making Bear disengage and come under better. Stretches over the top line. All of this training will help with her delivery of the foal as she's a maiden mare.

There is one horse at the barn where I work who will straight up murder me for bananas. He is obsessed. Three of the others like them just fine. Two hated them for months, but now that they've seen the other horses eating them will eat them without complaint. I love the little mushing sounds they make when they eat them!

Haha a friend of mine tried to get her polocrosse mare on to foal but it didn't take so she leased her to a friend for the polocrosse season. Many months later she turned up at practice and the mare was bagging up. She had the foal soon after that. The mare had done the whole season of polocrosse while pregnant and no-one knew she was even pregnant.

This has nothing to do with this video but I wanna say that I got my first covid jab today. In the morning I rewatched the video about you getting your first jab and as a very anxious person (not anxious about needles and injections but anxious in general) who likes to be prepared and know what’s gonna happen it was really helpful. I felt more at easy having a sense of knowing what would happen and what would be asked of me inside (even living in Sweden, routines were the same). So thank you Meg for that helpful snippet and tell your mum that it did in fact help someone😂

I don't know why I thought she wasn't a Welshie..... and I know that weight struggle too well. Had welsh mountain ponies at the riding school and it was honestly a battle to keep the weight off them. The worst we put into a small group isolation with only wisps of grass and no hard feed during summer. Still took a ton of work for them to shed any weight. They live on thin air. Didn't help they didn't have many smaller kids to give them more advanced work... and well the teens that DID ride them on occasion hit the deck a lot. lol. Anyways, hope everthing does go smoothly for the pregnancy. Moody pregnant mares are always fun.
