Hi Meg, just wondering if you live anywhere near Miri Hackett….she does amazing breaking using groundwork as a foundation and has a beautiful, happy process the whole way through. She re-breaks ‘unhappy’ horses as well. She is going to be breaking Rufus for Olivia Towers so must come highly recommended. It may in no way be practical for you, but just a thought 🥰❤️

Great decision! I sent Marley away to be back for a few reasons but yes, his reactions was in the mix. The advice that sold it was 'if I don't see his reactions in the backing process, I won't be worried about it under saddle!' which is such good advice! I sent my boy to HMB Millburs Stud and Equine Services and Hannah was fab and Marley has been such a superstar. Brilliant youngster!

If I've learned anything from working with colored "babies" (around 6 y/o) is that pintos have a uniqueness that makes them quite different from solid-colored horses. As the "crash test dummy" for those two I understand the apprehension to tackle Ari on your own. These are the first two that I will be backing and actually working with from start(ish) to finish(ish)

And we definitely support you in giving him the best breaking experience that you can, whether it's something you feel comfortable doing yourself or feel better having someone else do it! At the end of the day, everything we do is to keep them happy and healthy during the process so hope it all goes well! Random question, are lunge rollers worth it for already backed horses? I've been thinking of getting one for my cob since I've been doing a lot of lunging with him recently, but I don't know if it's worth the money (and stress of finding things that fit/having to potentially send things back and get exchanges etc haha) I know a lot of people use them for side reins and such, but I want to get some opinions.
